so we all know that Twisted Sister is the headliner of the Rock of Ages Festival in Germany.
I have a small problem with some of the acts.

the one highlight of the lineup is FISH ( AKA Derek Dick ) FISH was the original singer of MARILLION - one of my 10 favorite bands of all time. When he went solo his guitarist was JANIC GERS ( who was recruited away by Bruce Dickinson into Iron Maiden when Adrian left - now they are both in Iron Maiden - but thats another conversation ) FISH is just an amazing singer, and a total frontman. He tells long jokes between songs ( with his scottish accent ) 2 times seeing him solo - he has stayed after to have a few drinks with his fans. I almost want to fly overseas for this festival just for that. ( Give Marillion a try - even there newer stuff with Steve Horgath - FISH's early stuff really is amazing - kinda what Genesis would have been had Peter Gabrial not left the band )

Where my problem lies is that several of the acts - have almost no original members - and usually replacement singers.

Vixen is touring with just the guitarist? Singer and all other members are replacements.

Uriah Heep - I have no idea on them. They have had the same line-up since 1986 - so I guess we can call them close to original.

ASIA is only Geoff Downs on Keyboards ( at the time of the original booking of the show ) But just annouced in the last few days - after 25 years - the original ASIA is getting back together ( with John Wetton on vocals ) So now I am not as pissed ( I learned this while checking their site just now ) Steve Howe ( YES ) on guitar and Carl Palmer on Drums ( ELP ) Wow - this just brighten up my day.

UFO is pretty removed from their original lineup ( wasnt Michael Shenker in the group ) Even Jason Bohnam just left as the drummer - although he was like the 4th drummer they had

Andy Scotts Sweet - hell - cant even all the band SWEET - according to thier website - they dont even have a singer or a bass player right now.

Our Friend Eddie Trunk really says it right - when he thinks that bands need to put in thier advertisments who the current members are - and if there is a different singer

The New Cars with Todd Rundgren singing - I love love love Todd Rundgren - but with Kasim in the band - just call it what is is - UTOPIA

How can you call it Foreigner without Lou Graham on vocals.

Doors were amazing with Ian Aspbury on vocals - but they advertised it as such ( Jim Morrison was not available to tour )

Keep this thread alive with other bands that need to call it quits with thier changed lineups )

Ratt without Steven Pearcy
KISS without Peter and Ace
Van Halen without Michael Anthony - fuck the Van Halen Brothers
Warrent without Jani Lane ( really - why keep this band going without him )
Skid Row without BaZ

RJ ,

3/4 of these bands need to become the audience. lol The Asia news is welcome, that line up was the best IMHO, and yes Michael Shenker was in UFO back in the day. The last I heard Pete Way and Phil Moog were still in the band. The Todd/Kasim (Another Stagnet Island boy) is so curious I may just go see em. Never really been a cars fan but this twist, and the low ticket price, may just get my ass in a seat. Plus who knows maybe Tood will play Heavy Metal Kids.

This just reinforces what the Boyz say all along - NOTHING LIKE HAVING ALL THE ORIGINAL MEMBERS UP ON STAGE.

More bands that need to become the audience;
Bad Co
Styx

Larry Gowan does sound like Dennis Deyoung - but I dont care - they arent having fun anymore.
What I would like to see if Tommy reform with Ted and Jack and do some Damn Yankees dates.

Bad Company is performing with the other singer? didnt know that.

Journey - the new Steve is actually pretty good

cant decide if Guns and Roses should be called Guns and Roses with only Axyl

Did anyone hear about BOWSER taking his case to Capital Hill on when a band can and cant be called under that name. And to also protect the public.

Lets get some more names here - Im in a nasty mood - ha ha

Damn Yankees - no thanks, but what's more interesting, Ted is actually doing gig or two with the original Ted Nugent Band with Derek St. Holmes, Cliff Davies and Rob Grange. Legendary line up from such albums as "Double Live Gonzo" and "Free For All".

Well, Whitesnake is touring with David Coverdale being the only original member (well, he kind of IS Mr Snake) and Bernie Marsden, Micky Moody and Neil Murray are touring as Classic Whitesnake with a different lead singer. How about that.
Someone mentioned The Sweet which brings The Slade in mind; they are touring too - without Noddy Holder on lead vocals.
And how about this: Alice In Chains is touring too. Only problem is that the lead singer Layne Staley has been dead for a couple of years now. How about the Beatles, two of them is still around. Or bring back Elvis.

Not sure about Bad Co. But I know the last time I rememebr them touring it was just Ralphers and Simon left Paul and Boz weren't with them and I too forget the name of the singer.

Original Ted lineup! I'm there. He made a mistake letting that band fall apart. The big head syndrome strikes again. lol

That Whitesnake shiet is damn funny when you think about it.

Rumor has it Pete and Roger will be touring again, The WHOS LEFT TOUR. lmfao (I really did hear they may be here in fall but have no idea what the tour will be called)
