any other fas of this great band? i just picked up the 30 years of maximum r&b boxset for about $40. good purchase but either should have been 5 discs or they should have dropped a few tunes from tommy and the who sellout and added 2 more tunes from quadrophenia and 2 more post moon tunes. i would have like a 5th disc so that they could add the following songs:
athena
don't let go the coat
it's hard
another tricky day
the entire READY STEADY WHO E.P.
the punk and the godfather
drowned
i've had enough
the good's gone
dig
fire
some more rare stuff

my generation (deluxe edition)
a quick one
sellout (regular and deluxe edition)
tommy
live at leeds
whos next
quadrophenia
face dances
endless wire

Hmmm Your ahead of me then. lol
I have the entire WHO collection on CD but not the remastered bonus tracks etc etc.
What groups shoudl do it put out box sets of just the bonus tracks so people who alreadly owned their collection do not need to rebuy the entire collection over again.

rod stewart just did that. honestly the boxset covers most of the bonus tracks on sellout and then a few on each album after that. the problem is after the boxset came out they remastered the albums and uneartherd more bonus tracks and then since that happened they've release my generation, sellout, tommy, live at leeds and who's next in 2 disc deluxe editions with even more unearthed bonus tracks so now some people have purchased album 4+ times (LP, cd, remastered cd, deluxe version). quadrophenia has never been released with bonus tracks though for some odd reason. guess that will happen soon though. i'm not even sure they is a way to get every who song on vd without buying every last release they've ever done

LOL My friend you have forgotten 2 formats! (Or you may have no clue as to their exostance, lets not forget 8-track and cassette) I had a full collection about 250 or so 8-tracks and this was 74'ish when I was 14. Then I sold them for pennies on the dollar to buy cassettes then friggin cd-s came out and I almost forgot my late 60's reel to reel collection 2 dozen or so and of course vinyl I have purchased some recordings literally over half a dozen times. CD is my last format and all this remastered, extra, bonus, sterilized, bonofied, givemeyourmonified lol new cds are last on my list of get mes. lol UNLESS Its sister and maybe one or two other bands. Plus to be dead honest my ears.........I'd never tell that much of a difference. But I'm glad they do all this for the youngens.

God dam -- WoW MP -- I remember the eight track players -- wow you had 250 of those friken things? -- I had A eight track player in a Datsun 510 I had back in ??? 72, Oh my god -- I have to agree with you I dont know about the eight tracks but with the vinal also and all allthough god vinal was a pain in the ass,to take care of and the last of it seemed to get so cheep it wore out quick to , especially if you were really trying to get HI FI - out of it, Like you I had six copies of some of the albums I really liked, They just kept loosing thair edge, but I have to say They got some dam good sound when you consider they were dragging a stylus (needle ) threw a piece of vinal-- Yea even back then sound was pretty impressive./ Reel to reels were good too. Thank god for the ease of use CD . That was a bleassing .

its not even the sound difference that matters much its just the fact some people like to hear every song a band did. the who seem to be the kings of finding new material in the vaults to make bonus tracks or add a 2nd disc to make a deluxe edition like TS just did with stay hungry. the thing is they removed a few of the bonus tracks and added others on these deluxe editions for the who causing you to have to buy a new version without being able to sell the older version or lose a song or 2. whos next contains a concert on the 2nd disc but its not the full concert. i can bet within the next year the who will release that entire concert as a seperate 2 disc set

I am soooooo a creature of habit I can still hear where the 8-track tape use to cut off in between songs and continue when the song is played today on any format. lol

And yep the Who d seem to have a never ending supply of rare shiet. lol Smart enough to save it or brave enough to put it out? You decide. lol

Got that right ! My cousin who is older than me just told me her kid is fourty-- her youngest kid WOW you know? This morning it also dawned on me the eight track was in a way a four track - cause of the Stereo-- These things wernt big enough for common power. I only had a couple, maybe 15--- I remember my fav one was Bockman Turner Overdrive.

Gosh MP , I got to tell you , It feels so wierd to look back to that and see how far we really have come , I had been doing Electrical automation in industry , and PA stuff( my Fav) as a second job, and you know its astounding the advancements. To me, todays youth has it made in away compared to us , except for maybe $$$$$$$$$ ---certainly in technology--- Dollars I dont know -- This recession / depression ,hasnt helped many of us. Seems to me maybe its good we grew up sort of when we did , as a kid today , I dont know how much of all that stuff I would have been able to afford .But Even If I died tomorrow -- Between the stuff weve been talking about and great bar bands like this was, etc, etc -- we did ok back then, although LMAO , I cant say I minded seeing the eight track go -- well I though thank god for CD's Mp3's the cassette decks etc Music I dont know BTO , Scorpians, Wendy O , Dio ,AC/DC and pages of others etc -etc ah god I so love rockin ! I may die but it wont ! We Were lucky to have had this cool stuff in our lifetime.
