I contacted Mr. Stanton to get the word on Hammersmith, and here's what he sent back:

GOOD NEWS, BAD NEWS:

Twisted Sister has signed with American record label Razor and Tie for the purpose of releasing a final cd. The cd will be a Christmas album of standards done in an all heavy metal format. Due to release date commitments, the band had to cancel several shows this summer including 2 in England and turn down 4 high profile festivals in Europe. The planned release date will be in mid October. The title, track listing and support dates will be announced by the end of the summer.

Twisted Sister

---

The London and Nottingham dates have been cancelled. More details on all of this as they come in.

I'm currently trying to get as much info for you guys as I can.

No doubt Danny will log on and give further details at some point.

But I will point out that recording an entire new album is going to take up a lot of time.

More as I get it.

Well, if Nottingham Rock City is also cancelled someone needs to tell Ticketmaster. They are still selling tickets for that gig. I bought tickets after being advised that my money was being refunded for the Hammersmith show.

Lots of people just got a wish come true with news of a new album. Kick ass guys just as always. I wonder how fast them wannabe Bent guys can learn the new material ;-)
Hopefully support dates mean many holiday shows in the States.

a Christmas album? So is this like heavy metal versions of silent night and jingle bells???

Ought to be interesting.......tell the boys to sneak us a new original in on there!

P.S. I sympathize with our UK SMF brothers & sisters, I hope you will get an opportunity to see them at one of the other shows.

How bizzare that is! I met with the Razor and Tie guys in cannes this year and we briefly discussed Twisted Sister amongst other business. I am glad they are doing another album, but is a Christams album really something to sign off with...?

I am really gutted that they are not playing Nottingham, oh Well looks like wolverhampton is goona be one hell of a party next week!!

That one's still happening, as well as all other scheduled dates in Europe this Summer.

I asked Danny specifically about that, and he said the festivals mentioned were NOT among the ones on the schedule.

And I just spoke to Jay Jay, who said that there will likely be a string of dates to promote the new CD.

So is this like Christmas songs I would already know, or original songs revolving around X-mas or something else? Do you know that much?

Didn't get a track list from Jay Jay, but I did ask if there would be anything besides Christmas songs on the album.

His answer - 'All Christmas songs.'

Can you also ask who's idea that was??? As christmas albums are kinda corny, even done by Twisted Sister in a Heavy Metal way!

Yes, it was good news, and BAD news. I have payed for plane tickets, and payed a deposit on hotell rom. I have aslo payed for Tickets to Hammersmith and Notthingham. The consert Tickets costs more than the plane and hotel room, so it's goint to be a trip to London anyway. But right now I'am very disapointed But I will get over it.

I don't even know what to say. My first thought was to check the calendar and make sure that it wasn't April Fools Day. It's NOT! I can honestly say that I can even imagine what this will sound like. Because if that, I'm very curious. I can't say that the boys have ever really let me down yet so I'm going to keep a positive attitude about the whole thing and see what happens. This could be interesting.

Hey K-9, when I read your post I burst out laughing because I see it turning into a Dee stage rant! imagine this, Dee on stage, looking all wicked - "so we decide to put this christmas album out and people don't like the idea, they think it's gonna suck, Twisted Sister and christmas don't exactly go together ya know what I mean. There was even a guy on our slamboard who asked "is there a reason for this" Weeeeeel yeah, because it's fukin christmas!!!!! It's fukin christmas and people play lame ass christmas songs, and we wanted them to have some decent music to listen to, so we went into the studio and we recorded this......" And he launches into whatever the hit of the disc is

Can't ya see it

Still getting used to the idea, hell I don't even do christmas..........

I swear  I thought this was a delayed April Fool's joke.  Would still think that if I didn't see the same news on Blabbermouth.

Don't see the point. The metal Christmas thing's already been done, very well, by TSO.

Not pumped for a TS christmas album, but I'll buy it for the surprise, maybe I will love it. Sorry, christmas tunes are so UNMETAL. But I'm glad because I would think they will be playing some East Coast dates (BB & TS) this fall to promote it.

Dan, thanks for all the great updates on TS.

Take care,

I'm new to this board and I feel compelled to vent my spleen.

Having gone to all the hastle of booking tickets for the Hammersmith gig with Ticketmaster, I received a voice-message telling me the show was cancelled. I was quite annoyed as the bill of TS and Hanoi Rocks is a great idea and I'm not sure if it will ever be possible again.

I was quite worried as I though Dee's throat problem may be re-occuring and the operation did not go so well.

This morning I finally found out the real reason..............a Christmas album.

Thanks a bunch Twisted Sister. You've had years to put this together and you instead choose to do it during a sold-out tour. Do you actually care about your loyal fans? Do SMF's mean anything to you?

Maybe you should re-record your biggest hit, you know...the one that us Brits made a chart hit...........with a slightly different remixed title..........."I Am (I'm Mean.)"

I feel your pain, but grow up. The band made a decison, and you ahve to deal with it. I'm sure it wasnt an easy decision, as TS adores their fans. But get over it. You will live. Promise.

I'll grow up when I know I'm getting a full refund. I just find it rude that they've done this.

Luckily I live only 1.5 hours from the venue but, I bet some people have aranged travel and maybe even a hotel for the gig.

I took a lot of crap when I was a kid for liking Twisted Sister and I was chuffed to bits last year to hold my Come Out & Play scarf aloft when they supported Alice Cooper.

I'm pleased they are doing a new album and it sounds like it could be a real laugh as well as great music but, this is surely not the way to go about recording it?

But hey TS... there is NO excuses to come to SPAIN at LORCA FESTIVAL IN 11 DAYS...OK? Have you seen a SPANISH WOMAN REALLY ANGRY??? You better don't want to know it...

But please, please, please!... This time I want to see you here! (well...me and A LOT of people more that are traveling to Lorca to see you!

About the GOOD NEWS...of course! It will be great to have a new CD from TS... well.. Christmas CD (WOW! but I can't imagine the Christmas songs played in a heavy metal way and moreover... from TS!!!). Can't wait to hear it!

Now I only wait someone can tell me if Hanoi Rocks will be playing at Hammersmith or not

C-Rod, Cyn.. thanks a lot for your support,

yes... it was the only one I thought make it in UK... at Hammersmith...one of the best places to see them! How annoing... and more reading all the posts from the last show....well, these things happens...

I hope this will not be the only one chance to see TS at Hammersmith... and of course I don't want to thing this will be the last european Tour!

It is true I discovered them a bit late... yes, maybe yes... more or less it was 1 year ago only, and yes I know it...everybody has their private lifes, careers, etc. ufff....anyway... I don't want to think more about it. For now, we should enjoy the shows we can go...tomorrow doesn't exist...so better enjoy what we have now!

And yes, SISTA C-RODRIGUEZ:  *** TS's BOYS...  a Spanish woman piss off is the worse thing you can see! LOL!

Thanks a lot for your support SIS C-ROD and SIS Cyndi! you are very sweetsssss girlfriends!!!!

Well, I will try to enjoy a lot in my trip searching "my hero" around London, lol... no, seriously... I have several friends there waiting my visit long time ago...so now it will be a good chance for it and yes... to practise a lot of English with them too! (they have not IDEA of Spanish...I will be able to teach them quite more of my language this time and I learn quite more too!)

Hugs sistasss!

Yolanda

C-Rod, yes  "heroe" = "hero" in English...

Actually the (?) was because I wondered who your hero was, I am nosey Sometimes when we use it we mean a famous person that we admire but sometimes it can also be someone we know personally, it can also be a person who is brave or does something very brave but since you said "my hero" i was guessing you meant one of the first two. And yes TS Heros are hard to find!

My Heros are (in no special order)
Evel Knievel
Gunther Gebel Williams
Alice Cooper
My high school Gym coach
and my friend Greg (although he is showing a side I don't like lately)

I consider them my heros because I learned something from each of them that really had an impact on my life and made it better. So when you say hero what do you mean?

By the way, I really like talking to you and learning your language and how it is used. It's so much better then learning from a book! Also when teaching your friends spanish, don't just teach them the bad words! HAHA!

And to everyone else, and to keep this message on topic, why a Christmas album from a band with some Jewish members????? Strange, and yes I don't even celebrate Christmas and I don't mush like Christmas music but if TS records it I will buy it

yes... C-ROD... he is a famous person. I didn't want to put the name of my "hero", he,he.. remember... he could  read the TS Slamboard and to run out of London if he nows my surprise... LOL!

In fact, my "heroes" are 5 guys that play a wonderful hard rock music. Well, to say "hero" is a way to speak and as you say... they also impact me when I saw and listened them for first time when I was 12 years old. Last year I had the BIG PLAISIER to see them in live (my first time!) and to know them in person...and I haven't words to explain what I felt. In fact ALL was incredible those days, and also I knew there great and very nice people. AGGG... what a dream come true!

End of the history! now I'm waiting they start again the tour, hope by the end of the year! If you know what is my another favorite band... you will know who are my 5 "heros"!!!...

Hugs sista!

Yolanda

oppsss...and about the Christmas CD from TS.. I will buy too of course! I celebrate these holidays but for me, it is only a way to keep together the family...eating, drinking, etc. and well, maybe this year I will be able to listen the Christmas songs from TS with all the family singing! lol

GGW is a hero of mine too, C-Rod. Along with a couple of dog people that only other dog people would know, he inspired quite a bit of my training philosophy. I've seen his son work too and he ain't too shabby himself.

IM NOT AS BIG OF TWISTED SISTER FAN AS ALOT OF PEOPLE. I ONLY LIKE 2 ALBUMS.UNDER THE BLADE AND STAY HUNGARY. I DONT THINK THIS IDEA FOR A CHRISTMAS ALBUM IS A GOOD IDEA. TWISTED SISTER SHOULD BE MORE LIKE DEE SNIDER IN THE WIDOWMAKER OR AT LEAST TRY IT.

KD ,

You should give You Can't Stop RnR a few more spins. Killer fuc&in album.

I bet many many people feel the same way you do about a TS Christmas album. After you give it a few rotations I bet you'll be amazed. Like everything Sister does THIS AIN'T YOUR REGULAR CHRISTMAS ALBUM.

He should, LIFS aswell. I don't know what happened, he used to like these two albums.
Honestly, I feel the sme way King D does. But I'm sure this will be the best X-Mas album ever put out.

I do think King D has a point, a Widowmaker like album would rock, but it doesn't look like it's gonna happen.

As much as I liked Widowmaker ( Did you know there was a rock band prior to Dee who used the name Widowmaker and Ariel Bender from Mott The Hoople was in it) I always felt it didn't have the edge that Sister had. It was good and some points very good but just not the same.

Honestly can't name to many Rock/Metal christmas albums off the top of my head "BUT" I can tell you for sure I never heard anything that sounded like this one will. From what I heard anyway.

Gotcha. In that case White Christmas by good ole Bing will never be beaten in my opinion.

"BUT" in Rock Sister will take the Studs.
