Okay, is it me? Or did the venues just change for Greece. Fine with me either way....as long as the dates don't change between Athens and Thessaloniki--I've got a flight between the two cities, would hate to have to eat that ticket. (not cheap!)

Mac? Did you see this?

Hmm - don't know. The link still doesn't take you anywhere (except trying to reach the Equestrian Centre). Ticket Arena still shows and is selling tickets for the the original venue. Other sites are also still showing the original venue as well.

Tried doing a search for the Iera Odos and I'm not having much luck deciding if it is a venue or a street!

Don or JayJay - can you give us a little more information please!

Re the above:-  I cannot get any information on where the new venue has changed to. The Twisted Sister Facebook page gives the new venue as "Iera Odos". This appears to be a fairly long street rather than an actual venue itself.

Can you give us any information on the venue and it's location please. If it is an indoor show is there a minimum age limit? - I have tickets for the whole family and don't wan't to find that with the venue changing the admission rules will too. I have tried emailing and phoning Ticket Arena (the ticket vendor) but they are unreachable and still selling tickets for the original venue.

I have 4 tickets for the Athens show on 12th July  as well as transport and accomodation booked for the family.
Please can you help - we leave for Greece on Thursday night!

Thanks Marty and Danny

Marty-email me off list and I can give you a phone number where I'm staying in Greece (or you can give me yours)
so we can maybe connect before the show. I'm arriving in Athens on July 9th.

Thanks--see you soon
Terry

you know, just for fun....and to appease my neurosis.... I google earth the walking path from the hotel to the show. Gives me an idea of the neighborhood--should I call a cab? choose an alternate route? etc. and while walking the virtual path on Google Earth, I saw this...and thought it was too funny not to share it here...

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en-GB&rlz=1T4GGLJ_en-GBGB311GB311&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=Iera+Odos+avenue+18-20+,+Athens&fb=1&gl=uk&hq=Iera+Odos+avenue+18-20+,&hnear=0x14a1bd1f067043f1:0x2736354576668ddd,Athens,+Greece&ei=8JYITq7SFYKwhAemtKDIDw&sa=X&oi=local_group&ct=image&ved=0CAQQtgM

Not the image comes up.... but when you go on street level you get a wall with graffiti on it that says:
" I always knew I'd be a bank robber, so judge all you want, ladies and gentlemen, because you never did become an astronaut"

The venues do seem to have changed but I don't think Don has had time or noticed that while the link names have changed their destinations haven't. I'm not going to Thassaloniki but googled the Club and their website appears to be the one I've added the link to below (easier to find info on than the Athens venue!). (click on the light blue square for the English website version, green for the Greek language version)

http://www.principalclub.com/index.html

Hope this helps

TWISTED SISTER
The Iron Men of the Rock And Roll comes to rock as hard on the Thessaloniki!

Five years after their last appearance in Greece, New Yorkers Twisted Sister for a concert in the heart of Athens for the first time, will include in their program and Thessaloniki!
When in 1973, Jay Jay French decided to form their Twisted Sister is "conservative" America still unable to predict that soon would be born one of the most steadfast fan bases of all time, that of "SMFFOTS" (Sick Motherfucking Friends Of Twisted Sister ). The video clips of the band with a strong comic element, and the sedition act inspired American youth who wanted to escape from mundane reality and to oppose the monotony of everyday life. Rock anthems such as "IWanna Rock", "We're Not Gonna Take It", "The Price", "I Am, I'm Me", "Burn In Hell" are all time classic party anthems!

Many successors tried to copy them, but nobody has managed to successfully combine the aesthetics of the glam rock star with the spirit of the eternal adolescent in a soundscape old school heavy metal coming from the busy streets of New York.
The music of Twisted Sister is like a ride rollercoaster, which makes multiple stops, passing through the shock rock of Alice Cooper, theatrical make up the KISS, The unique style of New York Dolls with the final direction of the path of pure heavy metal.

You Can't Stop Rock 'n' Roll !!!

well. that sort of helps. sort of.

Marty, Armadillo, thanks guys. The pieces of info you provided is just what I managed to find on the net. Just to double the confusion I shared for the Saloniki show
It's either Mylos club (the one I went to looking for tickets) or Principal Club which is on the other side of the town - I would say some 15 kms from each other.
Would be really helpful if a true source can confirm the venue as I can't imagine myself on the day of the show driving around in a messy Saloniki to look for the SMF gathering
Take care guys.

Was the Mylos but now changed to the Principle Club. The following was posted on the Twisted Sister Facebook on 25th June at 17.23 -  "Important venue change information for upcoming shows in Greece: Athens show (7/12) is now at Iera Odos, Thessaloniki show (7/13) is now at the Principal Club Theater"

It's also on the front page here, but Don obviously hasn't got around to changing the links properly yet although it does give the new venue.

This makes sense now, thanks! I guess tickets bought on internet should be collected at Principal Club in Saloniki but not Mylos?

I heard firsthand from the club in Thessaloniki. They will honor tickets from the other venue, and tickets currently still available at the door.
Also: a nice extra--if you are staying downtown, they have a hotel shuttle. See below along with website info. Many thanks to Pavlos.

"Hi Terry,
the concert has been moved to Principal Club Theater (Wed July 13th)... If you already have a ticket. you can use it or buy a ticket at the door...
If you stay at a hotel in the center you can use our shuttle buses for the concert...

Okay! Haven't really bothered much with Greece lately, as I've been travelling... I've been in Basel, Paris, London and Milano in the last two weeks... and had tons of other stuff to be occupied with... so do I get that right that the Greece venues have changed?? It will be indoors now as apposed to the original outdoor gigs?? Kinda sucks, was looking for an open air show... but anyway, a show is a show! Hope though the VIP still makes sense, as it is almost twice as much as normal tickets. Looking forward to the shows... will be flying there on saturday.
