Yes, please! And bring the show to the Mayo Center for the Performing Arts in Morristown, New Jersey. I would love to see the band in a real theater like this one.

Seriously? To each their own I guess but New York City is too hard to get into? Please! Trying living in Chicago and getting to a TS show. New York is a simple train ride in from NJ. I really don't want to start anything here but I was just a bit shocked by that comment. I cover stores in all 3 NY/NJ airports and I've taken the trains from JFK to EWR and back all in the same day. It's not that tough. I was just there last week and managed to make my way from JFK to Yankee Stadium for the Big 4 show all by myself. And I didn't even get on a wrong train! I was actually pretty surprised since I honestly don't know my way around NY very well. The point is that I still managed to figure it out. Sorry for the rant. Feel free to go back to your regularly scheduled program now.

If they are playing Christmas shows, I wouldn't go anyway. I only go to their regular shows. But NYC shows have higher ticket prices, and there's the train fare, or if you drive you have to pay to park.

Oh gawd....not the Starland.... talk about a place hard to get to! (way hard to find that place!)

NY is the easiest place to get to of anywhere I've ever traveled.
I can go by bus...by plane...by train....(I'll opt to NOT go by car). I hate NY hotels, but otherwise, you can't beat the food and the atmosphere!

I think New York is a fitting place to play (yes, I do LOVE THEM VEGAS shows...) and ya just don't know how many more of these Christmas shows we'll get, so all of you folks who are on the fence....GO GO GO GO GO! You'll regret if ya don't.

Terry, the Starland is really NOT hard to get to.
I'm the one with no sense of direction & I got there!
I even found a diner afterwards!

Checking into the possibilities of flying in, watching the show and flying back. I'm in Phx, Az. Whats the nearest airport to the gig?

Flying into any NYC area airports and cabbing it to the gig would be insanely expensive. Your best option may be to fly into JFK- take the Long Island Railroad from JFK to Huntington (there's a direct rail link from JFK to Jamaica, and you can catch a Huntington train from there). The Paramount has shuttle buses from the Huntington train station to the venue.

Now there is a NYC show scheduled for Friday 12/16 at the Best Buy Theater, so it might be easier to fly to Laguardia and cab it into Manhattan.

Great news on the second show. Nice surprise.....This certainly has been a year of surprises

Thank you Guys

Just a heads up that the email announcing 12/16 as the date was followed up by one stating the date is actually Saturday, 12/17. The homepage of this site and the event info on the Best Buy site confirm 12/17.

Fountain Fan, where did you see October? The first email I got gave both dates incorrectly. It said Friday, September 2 for the Paramount and Friday, December 16 for Best Buy. The follow up email clarified:

In an earlier email, we listed the date of theBest Buy Theater show in error.

The date in the earlier email was listed as Friday, December 16. The correctdate is the following day - Saturday, December 17.

In addition, the date for the Paramount show was listed as September 2.Obviously, this was a typo and is incorrect. The correct month, of course,is December, and the date of the show is Friday, December 2.

We regret these errors and apologize for any inconvenience. Ticket sale dateswere correctly listed.

Twisted Sister

The only mention of October that I saw was for the on sale date for tickets.

Best,
CG

Are you.... quite mad?
Let me get this straight....you are going to miss the GREATEST LIVE metal band out there....and one of their infamous Christmas follies, no less...because you don't like the OPENING ACT? Seriously? Do you have ANY IDEA how many horrible opening acts some of us have endured to see Twisted?!!! Rain, snow, ice storms, 100+ heat, the SMFs on this board have endured it all....

well.
what can I say? go right ahead....but if you post later on your lament of missing TS live....we're going to be merciless.

Hey EVEL!
Look forward to seeing ya! I really do like the Best Buy theatre. Very nice staff, well managed, good sound, excellent theatre--plenty of good places to watch if you don't want to be on the floor. Two bars (if that's your thing) plus snack bars that sell Vitamin water (my fave) and a coat check. Great location right in Times Square--and ya know, to mean, it's a great place to get that Christmas feel. Well, maybe Finland with all the reindeer... but NYC at Christmas is just special.

Shoot me an email once you have plans. Maybe we can meet for eats after. Last time we overdosed on cheesecake. It was a good thing.

The nearest Airport is Long Island MacArthur in Islip, and Southwest is the airline. When you land you can take a shuttle bus from the airport to the Long Island Rail Road Ronkonkoma station and take a train to Huntington via changing in Hicksville.. http://lirr42.mta.info/schedules.php once you get to Huntington train station theres a "trolly" that will take you right to the venue so check with the Paramont on that schedule.

Your best bet would be to take the club's trolley from the LIRR parking fields to the venue, which is located right in Huntington Village. Parking in the village is difficult and the trolley ride is less than 5 minutes. When you get there, there are several places to choose from to eat which are next to and within walking distance of the venue. Bars, Restaurants, etc. I'll be in that area either tomorrow or Monday and will take down a few names of the places. I'll post them here so you can look them up online.

Hey George....

I've been "virtually" walking the block on Main street....and there look to be some serious good eats! Some good pub fare...a steakhouse....Mexican....asian fusion...
Oh yeah. I'm gonna eat well on this one! No hotel food this time around! Have to find a good breakfast place too...might as well make it worth my while, eh?
I owe you some good food fare, my friend...

I checked the Paramount web site and there is a bakery listed and the review said they had a good breakfast selection.
I'm looking forward to this show.

Here is a list of some restaurants, grills, and ale houses that are all within walking distance from the venue. Most are right next door, or less than a 5 minute walk away on the same block or the closest adjacent block. It seems like they have a place for every taste, as well as affordability. The grills and ale houses all have menus for lunch and dinner. The area is a big village area with lots of shopping and food, which explains the concern on parking. There are a few municipal parking lots around the Paramount, but they fill up very quickly. The same goes for street parking. If you are one that doesn't like the hassle of searching for a parking spot, and you don't like to walk for 20 minutes, the trolley will be available to transport patrons from the LIRR parking lot, which has more than enough space. The people that work in the area highly recommend it. You'll also meet your fellow SMF's on there. You can google the list of names for additional details. You may also want to make reservations if you select the larger restaurants. Yes, there is a bakery, as well as a yogurt shop, and the regular chinese and pizza places. I have my ticket and can't wait to eat and drink ......um I mean ROCK!!!!!!

Hope to meet some of you that night.

It wasn't looking good for a while but now it looks like I may be able to make it afterall. Which airport would be better for me to try to come into for this one? JFK or EWR? It will have to be one of those airports as I'm going to try and conveniently schedule a business trip. LOL! And then what would be my best course of action to get there from the airport? Any locals have any insight for me? Thanks in advance!

LGA would work, too but by looking at the map, it looks like JFK might be my best option. But I'd appreciate any insight on how to get there from the airport. Thanks again!

This is cut and pasted from an earlier poster:
The nearest Airport is Long Island MacArthur in Islip, and Southwest is the airline. When you land you can take a shuttle bus from the airport to the Long Island Rail Road Ronkonkoma station and take a train to Huntington via changing in Hicksville.. http://lirr42.mta.info/schedules.php once you get to Huntington train station theres a "trolly" that will take you right to the venue so check with the Paramont on that schedule.

Chris--Southwest flies out of Chicago.... it will be great to see you again, my friend.

Thanks but I since I cover those airports, I need to fly into one of them. Plus Southwest is a pain for me to fly as they don't fly out of O'hare. Midway is a pain for me to get to. Looking forward to seeing you again. Let's try and catch up before the show for dinner. See you then!

hey Cyndi!
the truck is gassed up....the cats are on the auto-timer...and I'm getting ready to hit the road in about 9 hours (but who's counting?)
Having some back problems so it looks like I'll have to stop about every 30 min to 1 hr or so, so it will likely take me 6 or 7 hours but all that matters is that we're all there celebrating another Twisted Christmas!

see you soon my sick babies

Terry, Cyndi

Sorry i missed you last night, my drive and then meeting my group at the Huntington train station took much longer than i planned. We ate before the show and got in the middle of the Jac & Jill show.

I think i know where Terry was standing based on Dee's comments to the reporter in the front row

Hope you both had a safe trip to and from the show.
