Me and my brother are planning on going to both shows, wanted to know of some hotels that are pretty close to the Paramount, maybe can even walk to it from a hotel. Also never been there , what is this venue like size wise?

Definitely no hotels within walking distance. The closest would be 15-20 minutes away, depending on traffic.

As far as the venue? It's gorgeous. Just opened this past month, and the new owners put a ton of money into the place. Capacity-I'm guessing- is around 1400 or so.

Hi John
I'm checking out a Four Points Sheraton that looks like it's just 7 miles from the parking shuttle for the Paramount. Looks like parking at the Paramount is rough, so they have a free shuttle that runs from the railroad station lot at New York Ave and Church St. Shuttles run til 2 am according to website. Easy drive to the Sheraton--looks like you just go South on 110 (New York Ave becomes Walt Whitman Rd) take the Long Island Expressway west and it's on the Long Island Expressway.

thanks for the intel! Spoke to someone at their office who said that street spaces fill quick on a weekend so they offer that free shuttle. I'll try the street first.. since the railroad lot is not far at all, just down the road a bit.

Can't wait! I love a new venue!

Armadillo,

Thanks for that infor, not sure exactlly where I am going to stay, I will call the Four Season you recommened. Usually at every TS show me and my brother like to drink and go nuts together . I probablly will take a cab , just because we want to have a few drinks. Looking forward to seeing them in a new venue , but especially seeing them out on the Island, on their home turf. The OLd TIME TS fans from when I you to see them back in the club days, late 70s, early eighties should be out in full force I would think Dee lives in that area, correct? Maybe we can get to meet at the show, Thanks again for the infor.

My friend, there's not a Four Seasons anywhere to be found, LOL. It's a Four Points-Sheraton. There a few hotels that are closer than the Sheraton where a cab ride will be less. None of those hotels were very interesting to me--I tend to stick with the chains. Good luck and see you at the show!

Oh happy day! I just got my tix to the NYC shows...booked the rooms....and MAN! I got the deal of the century on a bus ticket-- $16 Round-Trip from Baltimore w/free parking to NYC and it drops me just blocks away at 2PM....and just around the corner from my favorite kosher delil!

$16 is less than what I'm going to spend on the corned beef sandwich I get when I arrive! Maybe we can plan to have a post-show chow-down like last year. I think I may have face-planted into my food...that adrenalin crash hits ya hard but was revived by the miracle of cheesecake at 2 am.

I'm so excited I can barely stand it--can't wait to see all the NY SMFs again!

I'm hoping to be there for both shows but can't commit just yet due to everything that's going on at work. I may have to be in Boston for the 12/2 show. I hope not! I think I'm in pretty shape for the Best Buy Theater show.

Don't give up Chris-- Boston is not that far from NYC and there are cheap buses that run. Funtazia and I took the train last time (easier on the chair) but there are Bolt buses that run every 30 min from Boston to NYC, and Megabuses that run every hour, and it will only set you back around $20-40 or so RT. So if you wrap up business early, you can hop one and make it within a few blocks just as doors open. OOOPS.. just realized....the Dec 2nd show is the Long Island one. Yikes. Maybe you can tell your Boston client you've had a family emergency....your sister called and you've got to get to NY to see your Sick Mother. Worked for me in Inidiana!

Hope you can make it!

Not going. Really bummed but the funds are low, the wife and daughter both have health issues that are costing me a fortune and I promised the kid I'dtake her to next TS show I go to and that would require seats as she's only 12. Have fun!

Tonight I thought maybe it would be cool to move this post back on the line before it falls off the page. Like Pat, Id love to go but doesnt look real promising right now.

Its a must see show for those who can -- allways a great time !
