Elite SMF Posts: 214 Location: Da Bronx | I have never heard of a movie being funded in this way. Granted, I do not know alot about movie making or funding. I wish you and your band all the best but I can not do it. TS has supported many good causes like March of Dimes, The Uveitis Foundataion, 911 Relief, and so many more. But movies are usually funded by investors, because, after all, it is a business, not a charity. And while we all would benefit from the finished product, it is still not a charitable endevour. So why does the moviemaker seek charity from fans? Especially during the Christmas season when so many are hungry, homeless, or otherwise suffering? Maybe it shows a lack of commitment on my part, to the band. I thought I was a top fan, but maybe I was not. I even thought that marrying Jay Jay was better than marrying Christ. I didn't make it as a nun or as one of his wives, but I was faithful none the less, fighting off all others. In the spirit of Christmas, I will instead support the poor and show my love by keeping Christ in Christmas. Thank you. Nancy N. DeVivo, CASAC

Nearly A Band Member Posts: 406 | Hi there, long time no surf I know ... (hope everyone is ok and rockin' to the max). I have a question about this ... I'm mili-meteres away from pledging $100 for the US screening, Q&A with the director and the band. But before that I'd like to ask the moderator, Jay Jay and/or Danny Stanton roughly when this NYC screening will be. There is NO problem in flying over (UK to NYC JFK or NJ's Newark airports) to do this ... but I have many things semi-planned in 2014 and this will take priority if I can make it happen :-D Cheers, I asked the question on TS's and TS the Movie's FB pages as well. Any information, thanks in advance :-D Dan "bach" Griffiths

Road Reporter Posts: 1729 Location: Baltimore, MD | hey guys....it's not unusual now to see fundraising for movies and other artistic endeavors in this fashion. don't look at it as charity per se instead you're supporting an independent filmmaker and you're getting the chance to collect some rare twisted merchandise

Road Reporter Posts: 1729 Location: Baltimore, MD | I met with the filmmaker this weekend. (a great guy!) The actual date isn't known of the release--it all depends on the funding. The merchandise available (limited quantities) is AMAZING!!! rare tee shirts, picture discs, the SMF welcome letter--this is some great stuff for those who can donate. And those who can't-- Consider donating $1 dollar JUST ONE BUCK. You can't even get a cup of coffee for that--you probably have that much change in your sofa. If every single Twisted Sister fan on our slamboard donated just a single dollar, we could raise the movie money in no time at all. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE donate! WHAT THE FUCK, IT'S ONLY A BUCK! Elite SMF Posts: 214 Location: Da Bronx | I just got the email. They ARE offering something for the money. So it's not charity or a sacrifice. I stand corrected. I'll take the offers under consideration... Whether or not the movie gets made, best of luck to all you patrons of the arts and Merry Christmas! Love to all! Nancy

Road Reporter Posts: 1729 Location: Baltimore, MD | every single dollar counts. So seriously...if all you have is a dollar...donate 1 dollar! If we could get every fan who "liked" the TS facebook page to give $1, we'd raise the entire amount in minutes!

The funds are needed to finish the editing, it helps fund the various fees and costs associated with running the production in limited theaters, and other production costs. Check out today's featured clip---it stars lots of fans--including a few from this slam board, and ends with a fantastic clip of our website's own writer and original front row gal, DCT, Donna from CT. Do you want to see more? I sure do! Help fund this important piece of Twisted history!

Nearly A Band Member Posts: 891 Location: Dream Street | I hate to be a voice of reason here but if very few fans are willing to donate(even a $1 amount) for the film to be launched, how many people do you think will pay to see it in a theatre??? I mean come on. This is ridiculous. It's a shame but it's the reality of the whole thing. Of course I'm donating as I feel it's my obligation as full blown SMF, but how many people here would donate for a band they don't know much about? And further more, who here would go see a movie about a band they weren't fans of?

And as an SMF, I will also send some cash but not as a donation. I will buy a TS t-shirt to help raise money. Ill send the money to the mgt offices, though. Sorry, but I dont trust websites. D.T.A.- Don't Trust Anybody... Old habits die hard. Good to hear your voice of reason on the slamboard again! Thanks, Nancy Edited by nancyde 2014-01-07 6:04 AM

Nearly A Band Member Posts: 891 Location: Dream Street | Point taken. And a good enough point it was. How many people here saw Anvil in the theatre? I did not. But in my defense i don't go to movie anymore. 1 time in the last 4 years. 2 in the last 7. Edited by Jaysin 2014-01-07 1:03 PM

Elite SMF Posts: 214 Location: Da Bronx | Which two friends? Me and Jaysin? I hope so too! And with a title like that we will have to meet at a premier in NY or LA or somewhere like that. Definetly not a title for the bible belt. See you at the show! Edited by nancyde 2014-01-09 5:48 AM

Nearly A Band Member Posts: 772 | This documentary/ movie will Not be in theaters near you.......... This will probably be a dvd that will be made public to this website etc.. Not knocking it! But the interest in how a band made it in 1984 is not Oscar worthy material... Glad its being made, but just a small amount of diehards {like Myself} will probably only see it. SMFF
