Extreme SMF Posts: 132 | As usual, it seems to be monetary reasons.........the Legacy Open Air Corp. just released a statement on their website in which they confirm that Manowar actually pulled out of the festival because the LOA Inc. didn't fullfill their fiscal obligations. So I guess they just didn't sell enough tickets even when both main acts (TS & Manowar) were still on the bill, so that it was forseeable that either the festival would have to be cancelled or someone would go bankrupt in the end. Again, this is 50% facts and 50% guess.........and I'm afraid the whole truth behind all that will never be revealed (but that's of no interest any longer anyway, right ?). SMF, Germany

Full-On SMF Posts: 83 Location: Belgium | Sounds alot like the situation with Forces of Metal in 2012. They had the same headliners (Manowar and Twisted Sister) and they also had to cancel because of money issues. It was J.J. (still grateful for that) who confirmed to me that Twisted wasn't going to play at FOM although the organisation kept on saying that there wasn't a problem and that everything would be ok. Luckely for me Twisted Sister played at Graspop instead and we all know how that ended Edited by Hellburner 2014-04-02 7:05 AM

Hmm, maybe he's travelling in a flight case that says "important gear, please forward to festival site in time under any circumstances" ;-)

Extreme SMF Posts: 190 Location: Austria | Yeah. Seems the most practical. I could try that too.. my flight case just fell of the stage beyond the barrier.

Road Reporter Posts: 1729 Location: Baltimore, MD | Don't be absurd. I'm a part of the crew now...they pack me in one of the roadie case trunks so that I arrive with the rest of the gear. Sometimes they even leave some saltines in the bottom. The landing isn't bad but the baggage carousel always leaves a bruise.
