Snider rule as songwriter \m/

Extreme SMF Posts: 137 | I think it's a question of which version you heard first. I heard the Desperado version first, so I think it's better. Dee changed the arrangement of the song for his solo CD - not a good thing to do. Widowmaker handles Emaheevul better than Desperado. Again, I heard the Widowmaker version first.

Nearly A Band Member Posts: 944 | i think the last few songs on the disc might have been the b-sides to possible singles. most albums around '89 or '90 weren't 13 songs so you gotta figure at least 2 were b-sides more than likely. think of how many damn songs were written for or part of that project. the 13 on there, heroes are hard to find, desperado, cry you a rainbow, uh huh huh, sometimes you win, snot nose kid, we are the dead, you're a heartbreaker. anyways i agree the desperado version was better. can someone answer this for me though, what are the chances of another american tour? and are they gonna release more archived material like concerts and demos or leftover studio recordings?

It's like you were listening to "We're Not Gonna Take It" or almost any other song from "Stay Hungry" and compare it with "Still Hungry" versions. There just were no point (in my opinion) to re-record them. In other words, "Ride Thru The Storm" from Desperado album has always been one of my favourites, there's no way i could love that toned down version from Dee's solo album the same way than the blasting and touching original. On the other hand, there are some really great songs on "Never Let The Bastards Wear You Down" like "Hard Core". I mean HARD CORE!

Rami, sorry but i must disagree on this one with you........I don't think that it's up to what version of the song you heard first, cause i heard the " Never let the bastards..." version first of the Ride Trough the storm song, and i like the Desperado version, which i heard a year ago for the first time. And i had the Dee's solo album since when it came out, since 2000 !!! That's my thought, i respect your thinkin' too, but that's individual.... !!! Also, i think Emaheevul is much better from Widowmaker then from Desperado version...!!!

Extreme SMF Posts: 156 Location: Toronto, Canada | Personally, I like the Desperado version better. After having heard it, then the version from "Bastards", the latter just seems like its missing something. When I'm listening to the solo album and singing along, all of a sudden I catch myself going, oh ya, part of the song is missing. The last time I had the opportunity to meet Dee, I asked him about that - why he did that - and he responded that he just wanted to change the arrangement ; he was going for a bit of a different feel. BTW, may favourite songs from Desperado are that one and See You at Sunrise....just love that guitar solo...Torme shreds. S.M.F. Forever, Corey
