I just came back from my 9th (and hopefully not the last) TS show since 2003 in Seebronn! After my last 2 gigs being more intimate shows in Glasgow and Manchester, it now was a open air show again! The festival site was somewhere in the middle of the fields! Some farmer probably made a lot of money by lending the fields!

Anway, due to it the being the third headlining show since '03, in the south of Germany, they tried to mix some things up! Instead of the 1-2-3 punch of WYDKSCHY, TKAB and SH, they started with "Come out and play"... which was interesting (thanks, for playing that song though)! There also was no shouted introduction of the band! I don't know... I prefer the usual opening! SH was sadly missed! My mind is kinda jelly know, too much headbanging... so I can't really say what they played after, but I think it was TKAB! There was less talk and more songs (Dee did make fun though of some guys wearing orange hats and to prove his point he put one on himself... I hope someone made a picture)... unfortunately TS had to hurry, due to Wishbone Ash being late on stage and there being a curfew (he put the promoter on stage to tell him how fucked up it is that the headliner has to cut his set short, due to some opening bands being late... and I agree).... apart from that the show was great though, as usual!

They played some songs which I hadn't seen in quite a while or never before... the set list goes something like this... in no particular order

Come out and play
The kids are back
Under the blade
Shoot 'em down
The fire still burns
We're gonna make it
Tear it loose
Knife in the back
I believe in Rock n' Roll
I am, I'm me
Burn in hell
You can't stop Rock n' Roll
The price
I wanna rock
We're not gonna take it
The beast
It's only rock n' roll
Tear it loose
SMF

It was awesome to see IBIRR and TFSB again! Also this time, unlike the shows in Glasgow and Manchester, where some idiots were pushing like there was no tomorrow, this time nobody even touched you! You could freely move, bang and jump in the front rows... that was awesome!

After the show I briefly met Funtazia, who's one lucky guy, and his sister! I guess he has a tale to tell when he's back home!

Patrick,

Sounds like a great set list, and glad you had good ol' head bangin' time.  Don't know how I would react to not hearing WYDK as the opening song.  Guess the boyz gotta keep it fresh and throw a curve ball every now and then.

Get some rest and if need be, get to a chiropractor.  I always find that helps with TSRIs (Twisted Sister Related Injuries)!

WOW...that sounds like a kick ass setlist. But for them to open without "What You Don't Know" is odd. But hey, like the Mayor said, sometimes they like to keep it fresh and throw a curveball.

Glad you and all the other German SMF's had a headbangin blast. It's way past my years for me to headbang....LOL

I think it is great that they opened with Come out and Play. Sounds like a great set list. It was time for a change, I think.
Thanx for the review.

I remember on the Stay Hungry tour they opened with "Stay Hungry" and on the Come Out Play tour it ws obviously "Come Out And Play." On the Love Is For Suckers tour is was the song "Tonight."

Not having "What You don't Know" would be a bit strange but other than that, great set list! I haven't seen them open with "Come Out And Play" since that tour!! That was a great opener for that tour! They opened with "Stay Hungry" during that tour, which was cool, but I still think "WYDK" is the greatest opener for a TS show. Very cool to see them pull out "Tear It Loose" and "Knife in the Back", though! Awesome!

I loved to see that band again. They are soooo great. Dee is such a great entertainer.
And of course I was happy to see Daniel Stanton again. It´s hard to concentrate on the band, when he is on stage, too!
Hope to enjoy the guys again soon!

I've got no picture of Dee with the stupid Jägermeister hat, but lots and lots of others, I've uploaded some into this photo album (inlcuding a shot with the orgaizer, Horst Odermatt, when Dee criticised him for having to cut the headliners set short).

cheers,

Well, I don't think they cut back on the songs... but they sure cut back on the talking between the songs!

Twisted Sister opened many shows with that in COAP-tour around 1986.
