After seeing the Isles tribute to the Stanley Cup winning team of 1980 this past weekend I thought of Jay Jay's quote from the WLIR 2nd broadcast 5-24-80 from Detroit in Portchester : "Anybody from the Island here tonight ? Well on behalf of Bobby Nystrum & Denny Potvin , The ISLANDERS are the Stanley Cup Champions !!!! " Being a die-hard Ranger fan I had to lower the volume for that & try to forget that four year nightmare that was the Isle Dynasty.lol. Da,da,da,da,da,-Da,da,da,da,da,-Da,da,da,da,da,-DA,DA,DA,......POTVIN SUCKS !!But I'll have to admit, Potvin's got a good sense of humor, At the ceremony he commented on the Ranger fans chant, " They (Ranger fans) just don't get it , after all these years they still continue to chant 'Potvin's Cups ! "

9er ,

The Islanders did what! lol

Another die hard Ranger fan and I was probably shouting at the radio "JAY JAY just play the guitar" lmao.

That period was kinda like living on the outskirts of town or the unwanted stepchild. lol All the damn Islander bandwagon jumpers made me sick. I was born to wear Jet Green, Ranger Blue, Met Blue/Orange and Sister Pink. Anything after that is Yellow and it's called THE KING OF BEERS ;-)

I was born to wear Eagle green, Jet green, Cubs colors, Flyer colors, and to watch 43 car speeding around in a circle on Sundays.
Not to forget the 76ers and Twisted Sister colors too.

Tucker,

You are right about one thing - Go Irish! I get free tickets to every home game here at FSU. I just have to stand in the student section. I love going to the Irish vs. Noles games wearing my ND jersey amongst all the garnet and gold in the student section. I've had things thrown at me, get glared at, and yelled at and I love every minute of it.

Yo' bro ! You obviously were not listening when L.T. (Lawrence Taylor) , was using an offer from the Eagles to squeeze more cash out of the Giants, said , after he signed with the Giants, " nobody looks good in green ! " lol. Giant Blue,Ranger Blue,Knick Blue & Orange, & Yank Pinstripe, (although I'll root for the Mets to do well, not big on the 'ball and the stick') And I'll root for 41 cars to go 'round real fast and finish while I root for two cars to have multiple problems (the # 24 & #48) !!

I live here in Pennsylvania and just because the "Squeeler" won they are all dissing my Eagles.
I can't stand the Browns over any other team.

Make that 41 for me too, I'd never root for 20 or 8

20 & 8 have never really been my fav. (sorry)

But my driver is Kurt Busch in the #2, he's been my guy his whole carreer including his 97 days (when he was a coke driver)
I don't think he's in the coke family anymore but I might be wrong.

I think too much drinking something a little stronger than Coke caused the Coke folks to exclude Kurt. lol ! Check out www.cocacolaracingfamily.com Their 12 drivers are : #'s 6,16,20,26,29,31,38,43,45,55,88,99 !! The Big red Dozen so to speak.

That's kinda how my son selected Tony Stewart during the '02 season. I asked him who his favorite driver is and he answered with the only name he could pronounce at 4 years old ! lol He's sticking with him also. should of seen him last year, belly up to the TV watching Tony come from way back to win in Sononma, I think, I'll never forget how he'd look back from the TV and say , 'dad he's in 5th ,4th etc.' great memories !!

I was 12 in 2002 when I picked Busch. Rusty being my previous favorite driver, I was Glued to the TV durring the chase in 2004. I mean at Homested I was probably more nervous than Kurt himself! lol

I think it's ironic that my favorite driver Kurt Busch took over the ride for my old driver Rusty Wallace,
And that a guy named Busch drives for Miller Lite,
And that a guy who pretty much had a DUI in Arizona last year drives for a beer compony this year.
real rock-n-roll

I should say I'm more of a Net fan than a sixer fan, always have been, they must have slipped my mind when I said this
