Hey SMF's.

I was one of about 50 people who attended the AJ drum clinic at Sam Ash last night and I gotta tell you all that hearing AJ practically in a solo is a site to behold. Usually we all see AJ in the very back when TS is playing, but last night he was in the front playing and slamming the drums.

He was playing along with his guitar player Mike Orlando and Bass player (forgot his name) from his band project Sonic Stump. The clinic lasted about an hour with AJ delivering a heartfelt speech to everyone in attendance. To sum up his speech, he basically talked about people just following their dreams and accomplishing anything they put their heart and minds to. Talked about how he started out up until the time TS split and got back together. And his honest opinions on whether or not TS would reunite was amazing. He said he would've never thought it would happen but he is glad it did.

After the clinic, AJ along with his Sonic Stump bandmates were very gracious in taking pictures with everyone, signed anything put in front of them, and answered any questions from anyone there. A true class act and very humble man AJ is!

And my opinion here....this is a good part of why I am such a loyal TS fan........all 5 guys are nothing but true class acts and very humble. So I can say with pride that I am a fan of the best band in the world....Twisted Sister. And I've never had the chance to really talk to AJ until the Wisconsin show back in July and last night.

Lastly, it was nice seeing a few people from the board at the clinic...SMF Cyndi, Eddie and his friend with kids, and Carrie!

I took some pictures and they will be posted on the board shortly.

I made a mistake with the spelling and name of the band...the name of the band is Sonic Stomp not Sonic Stump as I indicated in the post. I apologize for the incorrect name and spelling of AJ's project band.

Well, another memorable experience indeed. I was there about a half hour before it began, watched them set up and do a sound check. Sam Ash store was enormous! The guitars blew me away! First time in there. The theme on the outer windows was very inviting. I will post the pic's I took, very creative.

AJ was as suave' as usual. It was a pleasure to finally see him up front where he belongs! I have always said he needed to be on a pedestal! When you're great, you're great! He was joking about the drum solo's how it was a good time for people to stretch, get something to nosh on or go to the bathroom! {he motioned a yawn...yawn...lol..}hehehe..NOT ME! I wait and LOVE AJ's thrashing solo, all eyes are on him during that time! AJ played the meanest and fastest I had ever seen. The tempo of this music is riveting! I don't have any other word to describe it. The pace and rhythm change so frequently, it was just a testimony to his skill and experience! It really kept me on the edge of my seat! For once I got to see every facial expression during his dismantling sound of the drums! PERFECTION!

After reading some of the many A+ reviews of "Sonic Stomp"..I have to use some of the adjectives used to describe the amazing Mike Orlando. **Speed demon with amazing lightning-riffs** they sent chills down my spine! If you could have seen how fast his hands were moving, like lightning bolts no lie! I walked up to him after the show and said.."ok, where's shredder?"...lol..he laughed, we chatted a bit and signed my cd's and flyers. He was very gracious and Mitch was right, they all were very humble. One song in particular really proves the strength and ability of this trio. The song is "Changes." Just truly brilliant in ever sense! The tones and sequences just were a cut above the rest. Some of the tunes were almost "trippy" sounding, and after I thought about it, it almost reminded me a bit like "Hawkwind." Some of the riffs also had the familiar quality of Hendrix!! Now what does that tell ya? The entire set was very unique. I could have sat and listened for hours! I was actually mesmerized!

Lenny, with his huge, adorable smile the entire time playin' his bass with ease. The bass sound is loud, strong and you can hear it penetrate through the drums and guitar. Super charged! I chatted with him as well, nice fellow! He has played with many other bands and comes to the group with alot of well deserved respect.

Songs...“Wheels in Motion”. You have to get this cd, you won't be sorry. I jammed all the way home to it. {**caution, it makes you speed! LOL..} I am going to use another word I saw that described this music, it was "infectious!"..it certainly IS! I absolutely agree!

I was very much impressed. Every element, every single note seemed to be perfectly placed without one missed beat! I tell you this, it is true greatness! I sure hope to see them again!I believe this is going to go to the top of the charts!

The other project in the works is called "Tred" featuring AJ, Mike, Lenny, same style, only with a vocalist. This should be interesting as well.

I am working on uploading some of the pic's I took. Hope you enjoy them.

Check out these reviews...whoa!

You're welcome George. It was an amazing show. Greatness at it's best! Yngwie has tough competition with Mike Orlando around! This man is brilliant I tell ya! They filmed it so hopefully there will be something for us to see soon.
