Quote from Billboard:

"Having regrouped in 2001 after a 14-year hiatus, Twisted Sister's ongoing existence is unclear, according to Snider."

Why does it say 2001 everywhere? Didn't the reunion start in summer 2003 with the Sweden Rock gig?

The 2001 tag is the NY Steel appearance. The band headlined the thing as TS , even though they didn't wear make up & costumes . The BB alter ego came after that . That's got me asking a question ......How many times has TS appeared as TS w/o makeup &/or costumes ? I think only Jay Jay or Mark would have the answer .

If you know any other gigs write them down here :D

p.s. Oh yes, and numerous times on the reherseals )))

Mac,

They played a "reunion set" with Dee at Don Hill's in NY as TS with no make up. That was the infamous chiropractic incident that led to the first meeting of MP1975 and myself. Then, they played at L'Amour (no "s", just like Detroit) in Brooklyn as TS w/ no make up.Then , we thought we were going to see a TS with no make up show at Tuxedo Junction in CT, and that turned out to be the first "reunion" show where make up reappeared. This is all to the best of my knowledge, anyway.  Take care, my buddy!

There was also the Halloween show in Brewster (I think?) NY. John Kay from Steppenwolf opened.

"10/11/2006 Dear Cyndi,

Thank you for writing to Borders Customer Care with your title assistance request. You have reached a central email address for the Borders stores, but not a specific store.

I'm very sorry that we were unable to answer you more quickly. Although we strive to answer customers within 24 hours, we sometimes receive more inquiries than we anticipate. If you need or prefer immediate assistance in the future, you may wish to contact our Customer Contact Center at 1-888-81-BOOKS.

I appreciate your inquiry. Unfortunately, we do not have the systems in place to check the periodical titles that are carried in our stores. This is in part due to the fact that more specialized periodicals can very from store to store depending on the customer demand for that area, and I apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause for you.

However, please feel free to contact your local Borders store to see if they carry the new special issue of "Billboard."

I hope that this information is helpful. If you should have any other questions or comments, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

**Here are some EXCERPTS from the magazine I found online at Billboard. Then below is what I paid though their website for that issue. I paid $6.99 the other day, and I see today when I just checked it now says $12.99. Stinkers! Of course, I have no clue if it is the same identical issue. So, when it comes in, I shall see.

Power Players 2006: Women In Music, Twisted Sister

These are EXCERPTS from the article you requested.

Twisted Sister: ALL THE WORLD'S A STAGE
October 14, 2006 -RAY WADDELL

"Twisted Sister is a machineâ¿¿an unstoppable, unpredictable freight train that has derailed and destroys all in its path," longtime band associate, tour manager and European booking agent Danny Stanton says.
Formed in the early 1970s by guitarist (and erstwhile Deadhead) Jay Jay French, the glam-metal band hammered out a name for themselves on the New York club scene, then a thriving, vital bar band environment.
[...] the bands that played them were for the most part cover bands.
Twisted Sister: STILL TWISTED AFTER ALL THESE YEARS
October 14, 2006 -BRYAN REESMAN

By the time Twisted Sister broke up in the fall of 1987, it had played thousands of shows, scored a double-platinum album with "Stay Hungry" and made two iconic videos ("We're Not Gonna Take It" and "I Wanna Rock").
With personal in-fighting adding to the sense of disarray, the New York-based cult band that had transformed into an MTV darling fell apart and became a distant pop-culture memory.
Snider wrote and co-starred in the horror film "Strangeland" and enlisted his former bandmatesâ¿¿guitarists Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda, bassist Mark Mendoza and drummer A.J. Peroâ¿¿to record, albeit separately, the song "Heroes Are Hard to Find."
Twisted Sister: STARTING A REBELLION
October 14, 2006 -TAMARA CONNIFF

Five middle-aged men, average height 6 feet (average height for males in Switzerland is 5 feet, 9 inches), long hair, ripped jeans and thick Long Island, N.Y., accents.
Who the hell do we look like? the band's manager replied.
"Being a band member and the manager was crazy," French says.
Twisted Sister: 'TOOK ON A LIFE OF ITS OWN'
October 14, 2006

Often perceived as a two-hit wonderâ¿¿said songs being the rousing '80s rockers "We're Not Gonna Take It" and "I Wanna Rock"â¿¿Twisted Sister's history is deeper than most people know, and its influence on hard rock more profound.
Frontman/songwriter Dee Snider contends that Twisted Sister was not only the original hair metal band but that it also invented speed metal with such fast-paced anthems as "Tear It Loose."
Originally formed in 1973 in New York by Jay Jay French, the band had formulated its classic lineup by 1982 with Snider, guitarists French and Eddie Ojeda, bassist Mark Mendoza and drummer A.J. Pero.
