Hi Patrick,

I'm a little bit jealous actually but since it is too late for us to go now I hope that you'll have a great time at a historical show. Anyway, here's some information I got from my Russian friend/tape trader when we started to make plans some weeks ago, maybe they are of use/interest for you:

Here's what my friend wrote to me:

(just in case this is the airport you'll be flying into):
"Moscow-Vnukovo is approximately 20 km outside Moscow, which would be approx. 45 km away from the city center. So not bad really. A taxi transfer would cost somewhere around 30 Euro, otherwise there is public transportation.

I'll do some research to find the best hotel price for you. Hotels in Moscow are ridiculously expensive, so we'd have to find some good deal.

The venue is pretty well located not far from the city center. There is a metro station in a 10-minutes walking distance.

The venue holds 3,500 people. It is actually a huge hangar but with excellent PA system. Been there a few times and the sound is always really good.

The tickets for the show are still available. The general admission floor ticket costs 45 Euro. Then there are seats in the VIP area. Now hold on to your seat...tickets range from 62 Euro to 300 Euro, which is crazy if you ask me."

That's about all I can supply info-wise, have a great time. Oh by the way, don't expect any street-, Metro- or whatever signs in English. A colleague of mine told me that it's still all in Cyrillic.

Take care and stay twisted

Hey there! Yeah! Twisted Sister and Moscow is a cool combination! Really looking forward to seeing the city! Thanks for your infos! I'm going to Domodedowo airport though.
Wow, street and metro signs in Cyrillic sounds like a bit of a pain in the ass... had a problem in Greece already! But I hope I will manage. Does your friend know if the tickets are only available at the venue or is there some other place more central to buy tickets?
