Well, at this point it's kinda going in circles and I can only repeat myself.
Even though it's probably handled somewhat better than all the other atrocities comitted against animals (and I recognize the points arguing for it), in this day and age it's not a need to go whale hunting anymore, but a choice. And considering the cruelty to animals and the state of the contaminated meat (when even Faroese officials issue a recommendation, that whale flesh should only be eaten once a month and not at all if you are a woman planning to have children, then you know something is up), a questionable one, more based on tradition, culture and stubborness, than on anything else. And it is simply not known, whether they are endangered or not. There are conflicting reports/not enough data.
As for ditzy appearing celebrities getting on a soap box... there are far less ditzy appearing celebrities supporting Sea Sheperd as well and there are far worse causes one could apply themselves to... if that helps. |
