Twisted Sister - A Twisted Christmas Review

Twisted Sister deserves credit for not taking the obvious route during their reunion. Very rarely will a heavy rock band come back after 20 years and put together a holiday album.

It's a far cry from "You're gonna burn in hell!" to "Have yourself a merry little Christmas." As much as Twisted Sister waived the flag for fist-pumping heavy metal anthems, they always had a soft spot for some campy humor and a good time.

A Twisted Christmas is simply Twisted Sister getting together to have some fun and blast through some of the most recognizable Christmas songs ever.

Taken in the spirit of the holidays, A Twisted Christmas is a completely absurd and highly enjoyable ride. The band borrows form the punk and metal that influenced them, turns the guitars way up, and Dee Snider provides some big vocals that are much less grating than what he does on his radio show.

"Heavy Metal Christmas (12 Days of Christmas)" is retarded. Even for mindless rock music. Apart from that, Twisted Sister nails several rocking renditions of songs like "Oh Come All Ye Faithful", "Silver Bells" and "The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting)".

Bing Crosby is rolling in his grave.
