Full-On SMF Posts: 73 | Most likely because Massey Hall did a shitty job (in my opinion) promoting the show from day one. Most people I know haven't heard a word about it. I'm sure TS could have filled the place if they simply got some radio promotion etc. Anyway, as long as I still have my second row centre seats, I'll be happy. If not I'm going to move from being one SMF to being one Angry Muther Fucker! Anyway, I was checking the ticket sales from time to time and they unfortunately weren't moving very fast until Ticketmaster got involved, and then although the floors seemed to be almost sold, Massey halls balcony's weren't . I still think a full week of radio promotion would have got the job done. However, on the bright side I've heard the venue is actually decent for seeing shows, and you can actually get closer to the stage. Also, at least they aren't cancelling like 1986, and no matter what you know it's going to rock. After all You Can't Stop Rock n Roll! Mark P.S. For the first time today that I know of, there was some radio promotion of the show on 97.7. It's strange as soon as they move the venue, now the promotion starts!

Extreme SMF Posts: 156 Location: Toronto, Canada | Mark pretty much summed up it. The ticket sales have been slow, so the show has been moved to a smaller venue. When there was no advertising as the show went on sale and afterward, I contacted the promoter (the hall themselves) and received response from the Marketing people. They had a plan to pace the advertising slowly, starting out with sales to their membership base which they hoped would build buzz, followed by radio and print. Well, some print happened, with no radio. I am happy Mark finally heard something on 97.7. About time! I know there has been some postering and flyering too, but I think radio will be an important key. Unfortunately another factor running against the show is that many fans seemed to be turned off by the fact Twisted is playing Christmas music. I have been posting about the show on various forums, and while some response has been positive, a lot of comments have stated that people would go but they are going to pass because of the Christmas tunes. Well, I hope the sales pick up with the radio promo and the TV appearance that TS is doing on Monday morning. I know I'm gonna have a blast! S.M.F. Forever, Corey

I called Massey Hall friday and was told that only 600 seats had been sold so that it why it was moved to the smaller hall to give it more of an "intimate feeling" I had 9th row centre, I hope I still get the same quality seats.

Extreme SMF Posts: 156 Location: Toronto, Canada | I exchanged my tix today. My front row tickets that were centre section off to the left are still front row tickets, but closer to centre I also had a buddy's tickets to exchange, that were 6th row centre, now 3rd row off to the right, and it is a smaller venue so that is all good. I also was told only 600 tickets sold, so for Massey Hall with a capacity of about 3,000 that is pretty poor, but considering the lack of promotion that has been done for this show that is actually not that bad. I was actually impressed. I was waiting for them to tell me 50 tickets had sold. The new venue holds 1100 so right now it slightly more than half sold, and there are bound to be more sales by show time, especially considering that there is now supposedly some radio promo and that TS will be performing live on Breakfast TV on Monday morning.
