I have had this song in my mind for three days now- and now I am wondering- why don't they ever play this song live?.
No one ever mentions it - was this song not liked by fans-or even the band?

It makes me wonder what was going through Dee's mind when he wrote this song-or what was happening at the time for him to write lyrics like that.

I really love this song and remember the first time I ever heard it was on the radio with Tommy Vance rock night show on radio one...all them many years ago!! ;o)

evil's comin'
fight the fire
push has come to shove
let's all pray
we need the help

death from up above
we must fight, we won't surrender
the king will never change
hold the line, there's no contender
the outcome's prearranged

it's kill or be killed
live or let die
kill or be killed
though you don't know why
it's kill or be killed
rock or let roll
kill or be killed
burn or save your soul

death is certain
there's no question
life's not quite you see
pick your path
and make decisions
for eternity
choose your weapons
this war started
long before you came
fight the good fight
let's be sure they'll
never rise again

it's kill or be killed
live or let die
kill or be killed
though you don't know why
it's kill or be killed
rock or let roll
kill or be killed
burn or save your soul

don't sleep in the fire
have faith and desire
then fight for your life
and be free
it's kill or be killed
live or let die
kill or be killed
though you don't know why
it's kill or be killed
rock or let roll
kill or be killed
burn or save your soul
it's kill or be killed
live or let die
kill or be killed
though you don't know why
it's kill or be killed
rock or let roll
kill or be killed
burn or save your soul

I think it is a great song - one of the stronger ones from the COAP album, along with The Fire Still Burns which I am so happy that the band has chosen to play at their recent shows. To my knowledge they did not play either song on the COAP tour so it is a great thrill to hear one of them now. Would love to hear Kill or Be Killed live.

I remember when Dee was on Rockline in Dec 85 just after the album came out.... a woman called in saying how she loved the songs and found a lot of the lyrics really funny, to which Dee responded in joking sarcasm, "you think Kill or Be Killed is funny??" LOL

There are a few songs on that album that got overlooked. Out On The Streets and King Of The Fools are great too. The only two I dont like are You Want What We got and Looking Out For Number 1

They have a lot of good moments on the album and it has good amount of variety. And of course it depicts Dee to a Tee....Humor, anger, and intelligents. I'm just not crazy for the sound of the snare drum sometimes. Biggest mistake and perhaps an innitial reason for lack of success was the result of releasing "Leader of the Pack" first.

I totally agree, Maybe T.S should start making their tour with some of these included with the song 'strangeland' slotted in.
B.T.W... happy Easter!

I think the song was written about doing the laundry. You know its like detergent. Kill or be killed.
I think Dee is great at figuring out wash cycles. You know....death from above.

LIMEY! I think they played it the first time I saw them @ the New Haven Coliseum on the COAP tour.
