| Hi,
Any other hard-core fans of the great ever-green gem TV Wife? I think that it is one of the best TS songs ever. And I don't understand why they don't play it live anymore. After listening to it over and over again, I also wonder why only Dee wrote the songs for the 5 major label studio albums. IMO the other guys should have written stuff too.
I am also in the works of making a tribute video of this great song for YouTube. It features the song (of course) and tons of JJ photos. It's gonna be wild, we're gonna go crazy and you're gonna love it!
While waiting for that: Here are the lyrics, what do you think that JJ ment when he wrote TV? Did he mean TV as in TeleVision or as in TransVestite? Any idea or has JJ approached this topic in any interviews?

| Yeah I love that song as well and also have been wonderin why all the other guys haven´t been contributing to the songwriting. Having that said I do have to state that in my opinion there´s nothing wrong with Dee´s songs. I love them all all the way to Desperado and Widowmaker outputs. He truly is a songmaster. |

My interpretation of those lyrics (only Jay Jay knows for sure--perhaps he'll chime in and divulge the truth..)... I read "TV" wife as television wife--the stereotypical 70's housewife who is home all day and has no existence or company other than the soap operas, game shows and escapist television. That her hopes and dreams are no longer hers--she has become her own sad reality.
That's my interpretation--I did not read "transvestite" anywhere in that song. |

| Thank you. I haven't listened to or looked at the words for over 30 years. When I get the time i will correct the lyric errors if only for accuracy sake. I really do appreciate that you like the song. I just about forgot it. |

Thank you for your comment, I love the song - has a great RnR feel to it! I and a ton of other folk would love to hear more stuff from that era and even get some hidden gems back to the set - or pretty much to see them in the set for the first time.

Cool song. And even if he wrote and played like Yngwie, I couldn't love him any more than I do. Great musician and band leader. |
