Friend of mine gave me a live TS tape recorded in the UK, it had to be 83 or 84 when i got the tape and it had Dees speal on it about how the concert goers were "standing around like maniquins in Harrods w/broomsticks stuck up their bums". I was hooked, Dee put out there how he and the band really felt about things and that impressed me along w/the raw energy of the music itself. I've only had the pleasure to see them live once in the midst of the Stay Hungry tour 1984 i believe in Binghamton NY. Very good show and the band rocked that house. Some clown threw ice at Dee and he was pissed which caused the show to end early and that was the only drawback i can recall. Also went to see them in 84 at the Weedsport speedway and for whatever reason the band had to pull the plug and not play. Well i've never seen such chaos in my whole life, i dont know if it was because they cancelled or what but i've never seen so many fights in my whole life, there musta been 30 fights that i seen and was lucky enough not to be in any of them. I give Ratt much props from this nite because they were the other band on the bill and had to go out and face a very pissed off crowd who was throwing full unopened cans of beer like missles at the band while they played hitting the light tresses and exploding, it was nuts totally nuts and you know how Ratt had all those stages moves back then? Well i'd tell ppl that Ratt really had their moves on that nite dodging those beer cans getting chucked on stage at 100mph. I tell that story very often mainly because i came thru the whole thing untouched and i had brought my younger brother and a bunch of his friends so i had like 4 other dudes to look after, we also behaved and watched the melee with deer eyes in the headlights. Once again Ratt played their asses off for like 2hrs straight to cover TS time slot and i said it takes alot of balz to stay out in front of that crowd for 2 hours straight like moving targets and thats about the time i said i'm now a Ratt fan too. We miss you Robin and you had a cool about you that i havent seen for sometime.
