Full-On SMF Posts: 77 Location: Hull | Download Festival should be great! Their first performance at Donington Park since 1983! Alice Cooper on the bill too! Looks like they will be playing on the mainstage, although this may mean they only get about 40 minutes or so as they are quite far down the bill!

Road Reporter Posts: 1729 Location: Baltimore, MD | I'm very disappointed that they selected Def Leppard to headline. I saw Def Leppard play about 5 years ago and I was so dismayed I almost walked out. They couldn't hit the notes, it sounded like they hadn't rehearsed in 20 years-- low energy, poor performance. (compared to when I saw them in 87--when at least they could play!) Twisted would have blown them from the stage in 87-- and given how well TS is playing now, it's almost a damn disgrace to put them so low on the bill--sorry, but Def Lep does not deserve top bill. Gonna have to pass on this one gents...

Def Leppard were awesome for the first 3 albums then everything went to hell with "Hysteria" and they never found their way back. There's a lot of great bands on the bill, though. Crappy part is that I'm actually going to be in England the week BEFORE this show. It would be awesome to go because I've always wanted to go to Donnington ever since I was a kid and heard about it. Gotta say that I'm stunned to see Twisted so far down the list with all of the success that they've had at all of the European festivals over the past few years. We'll take what we can get, though. Anytime the boys are still playing is a good time.

And I know, Chris, you understand when I say: "please NOT Wichita...PLEASE NOT Wichita....ANYWHERE but Wichita...."

Extreme SMF Posts: 124 Location: Dublin | I can't find the actual day-by-day running order anywhere on the site. Anyone else find it? That will be a big decider for me. Leppard, Alice and Lizzy are playing in Dublin a couple of nights before so the only band on the whole bill that I would travel for at the moment are TS - but not for a 40 minute set!!! Interested in other announcements on front page - 16th July - Sonisphere Madrid maybe? 30th July - there must be a festival in Scandanavia, TS always go down well there Edited by eoineo 2011-02-28 2:59 PM

I'm kinda thinking the same thing - and weighing up the risk of buying a one day ticket when / if they are released against the chance of the running order changing and Twisted playing on the wrong day as happened last year at Bloodstock (thankfully I was there for the weeekend!) As far as the other dates are concerned I've done a trawl on the net for those dates and can't find any festivals that look likely. Given that they're playing Masters of Rock in the Czech Republic on the 15th though I wouldn't think it would be too far away from there given the travel logistics............... waiting with baited breath!

Just noticed that the TS front page lists Masters of Rock as Saturday July 15th, while the banner below advertising the date to be announced is Saturday July 16th. I presume the Masters of Rock appearance is to be on Friday the 14th ?

Extreme SMF Posts: 146 Location: Fareham Hampshire UK | Hi Marty/Eoineo I too have been keeping a close eye on this - www.efestivals.co.uk has the following break down of bands - suggesting Twisted will play second to Alice on the 2nd stage on Saturday. Main Stage System of a Down Avenged Sevenfold Escape The Fate All That Remains Down Other Stage Alice Cooper Twisted Sister Mr Big unknown stage Buckcherry Cheap Trick Clutch I don't know how official this is but it makes sense. I have never been to Download (made it to Monster's of Rock at Donington only on three occassions - all post Twisted I'm afraid) but I would rather see Twisted higher on the 2nd stage then earlier on the main stage and only get 20 mins. I still think we will be lucky to get 50 -60mins on the second stage though. I think I will do it - just to see Twisted at Donington. It will definately just be a day ticket - I'm struggling to find much else I like over the rest of the weekend. I do find it interesting how different bands get placed on different bills at different festivals in different countries - for example Twisted played above Def Lepperd at Arrow festival in Holland in 2008 - yet Def Lepperd get to headline Download. Extreme SMF Posts: 146 Location: Fareham Hampshire UK | To add to eoineo's speculation as to the other dates to be announced - My money is on Rock of Ages - Germany Sat 30th July - I have absolutely no idea or inside info - but Twisted played at the first festival in 2006 - and they only have Jethro Tull, Slade, Wishbone Ash & The Animals on the bill so far so Twisted would be a great 'name' to add - but I'm only guessing.
