 Road Reporter Posts: 1729     Location: Baltimore, MD | Here's the thing, Jim. We've tolerated a lot of people posting their unpopular opinions over the years. 1. The posts are essentially the same thing, over and over and over again....in forums that are not even appropriate. Off-topic is for off-topic. Slamboard instructions & issues is for just that. 2. He starts a new thread, every single time, and it's the same thing. If he wants a dialogue, then he should keep posting on his own single thread that he started. This happens sometimes after a show--we'll get four or five threads all on the same topic, but it's usually excitement and not intentionally junking up the board. His posts are essentially like virtual littering. If he chose to keep posting on one single thread, since it's all the same topic he keeps crying about, then I'd leave it be. It may be a conversation with himself, but it's his thread. On his original post, he received replies, and he chose to start new threads instead of responding. It's bad internet etiquette and on ANY other forum or board that I belong to, he would have been moderated...warned....and if he failed to comply....removed. We could have had an intelligent dialogue about why the band elects to play festivals and not small clubs--we had a dialogue on this very topic awhile back--it was good discussion and many of us actually agree that we prefer small clubs over festivals. There was thoughtful and respectful dialogue--and Jay Jay actually chimed in and explained why they have made the decisions they made. 3. He began this whole thing the wrong way. His posts were very disrespectful to the band and the fans. Look at all the other posts we have on this board. Very few are as offensive towards the band and fans as his. We have posted criticism of TS here, but because we know that the band reads the board, we offer it in a manner than is respectful. Even I have posted criticism before--bad shows, bad meet n' greets, etc. 4. The whole all typing in caps is shouting. at least he stopped doing that. 5. Jim-- You know that I am all about self-expression and being yourself. There are so many ways that he could have presented his opinion, and he would have not only gotten agreement from others, but a little respect. Instead, he is acting like a giant douchebag, treating this slamboard like its his personal toilet, and has not made any worthwhile contributions to it other than six or seven virtually identical screaming crybaby posts that go nowhere but in circles. 6. Lastly--I don't care if people can't spell or have poor grammar. We have plenty of folks that speak English as a second language--as long as we can communicate, that's all that matters. I also know that some of us have more personal issues than others..... that's okay too, as long we continue to show respect towards another. His posts are just blatant trolling ....desperate cries of "look at me look at me" to piss us and the band off. He is not an SMF Friend of Twisted Sister--he's just a sick motherfucker. Think about it--many times we have disagreed with one another. Even when it's gotten heated--in the end, we all had respect for one another and each others' opinions. ( I can't remember the last time I told someone to fuck off--you've got be a serious asshat to bring it to that.) It's that basic rule we learned in kindergarten--be nice to other kids....and the other kids will be nice to you. If you act like a jerk as your first introduction here, don't expect anyone to roll out the welcome mat. So Jim-- I disagree you on this one. I'll quote the announcement they play over the loudspeaker before every Raven's game at M&T Stadium: "Be a fan. Enjoy yourself. But Don't Be a Jerk!" | ||

I cant think of anyone on this board I dont consider a friend.( that is really true) I think you "ALL" know me well enough in that I dont pull any punches and pretty much say what I think.( im not saying this is the smartest) Im not out to win any favors or impress anyone. I think we all have something to offer( even if its the stupid most redundant thing you ever saw) - it 'to some' is still entertainment) on this board which is what to me also makes it entertaining and a fun place to be and I hope next time that we have one of those post show eat deals you will still invite me as I trully do like all you guys. It scares me a little sometimes how vicious people can be sometimes and personally think we all should keep all this in perspective. I dont mean any offence here Bobcat -- for sake of this conversation you could be named anything -- In that light -Who cares about this guy and his stuffand its really his right to do anything he wants last time I checked no one on here owned the slamboard , well Except You Jay. To me -- Now this is just my opinion, I myself would just ignore it. There are people ( im not particularly refering to anyone, but there are peeps here that take it so seriously that they get down right vicious -or hurt for no need - Over what -- Some writing on a slamboard? LMAO -- of course I guess I should realize it is called a slamboard right? -- But really --not directed at anyone in particular To me This is still America ( I think) allthough I here someone else actually owns us now. , the slamboard is probably one of the freeest places we will ever have the honor of being able to F- around on and thats all good. I just hope people wont get hurt feelings for one reason or another or feel the need to nurse maid others they can put on their own big boy pants I would hope by now( this includes me also I do this sometimes , like in this last thread) and keep it in perspective that its a f- around place. For me I dont own the board,( non of us do to me thats the point) I have no right to say whats appropriate or not ,I couldnt care less or take personally if someone agrees or not although Id like to keep all my dear friends on here, which I realize may be -Yea good luck Jim , but even me - I feel the need to grow up a little and let peeps do as they will. Believe me if the band or Donny doesnt like something in reality its their job to say whats so as its their board. TS owns this board -- If something or someone gets out of line enough , they can talk. You know in the end here please forgive me, I knew it was a mistake getting involved with any of this, Its just in life, I would gladly kill some SOB that ganged up on me or started with this stupid demeaning shit about how litterate my spelling was There are peeps in this band whos spelling isnt so swift as well. Can I play like them on that level -- Hell no -- There are people here that dont know electrical industrial automation and would kill them selves messing around with high voltage trying. -- Then again what the hell do I know about medical stuff right ? There is no one that is above anyone in my opinion on this board or deserves others disrespect. We all have something unique to offer in my opinion and if they dont , maybe it was at least entertaining. I like every body here basically , but last time I checked God was the Boss, What is that famous old saying -- let thou with no sin cast the first stone? -- There are peeps here that never got that one. Ive been amazed a couple of times years ago I wasnt thown off the board myself. I prayed I wouldnt be one time I got so out of line on a somewhat legal matter that could have cost peeps a lot of money ( allthough what I said at the time was basically true - I knew this as a x- Fireman , but better not to go down that road again. If the administation of this board hadnt been so cool I probably would have been. So all im suggesting is ( my oppinion once again) Please lets lighten up , write to others the way you would have them write to you- hopefully stop ganging up on people ( god is that cowardly) and not viciously attack peeps about stupid shit. I dont care how redundant some idiot is, How many posts he or she has - to me everone on here is equal and owns as much property on this site as anyone else. Well ok Nuff said by me. We do have a webmaster who operates the board in his spare time, and because moderating a board takes a huge amount of time, instead, they let us post without a moderator, but it's basically the honor system. When I first joined this slamboard, it was terrible--the flaming was rampant, and it came down to physical threats between members, (ironically....one was from Poughkeepsie) Since a few of those folks got tired of stirring the shit and left, the board has been remarkably civil, fun and informative. Look at it this way Jim-- when I saw Warrant last year at M3, I was absolutely disgusted at what they have become. Same thing with Enuff Z'nuff and Winger. Nothing but disappointment. But those bands all have fan websites with forums, packed with fans who adore them. I would never go to their site, and post that I thought they completely suck now, and what a pity they don't play how they used to. I wasn't raised in a barn. I'm not a religious man, but since we're quoting the bible here, "As ye sow, so shall ye reap" seems appropriate as well. I hope things settle down as you do....so we can get back to discussing the upcoming concerts, Dee appearances, band projects and pizza menus. | ||
