I'm not sure what the reasons are but Dee recently mentioned that there will be no new album as did Jay Jay recently.

All I know is if the last new album is left at Loves For Suckers,TWISTED SISTER are doing themselves a HUGE disservice. The fans have been itching for new material for so long now. I love the reissues but we've been bombarded with 3 versions of Stay Hungry (2006 remaster/25th remaster/Still Hungry), Christmas album (yeah I liked it), and now lots of old stuff. Granted it's cool stuff, some of it.
What I'm sure many SMFs worldwide want though is a new back to basics Under The Blade style album of this era.

Twisted....if you're gonna end it please end it the right way and satisfy true SMFs wishes for one last kick ass rock 'n' roll album. I want to one of my fave bands go out in a blaze of glory as recording artists not just a kick ass live band. Once TS is gone as a live band, the albums are what we are left with.

Jay Jay and Dee.... you've both mentioned KISS in interviews of the past. Well look who is making new music now? The tide has turned.

It's 2011, yeah albums arnt selling but they also cost alot LESS to make.
If King Kobra can do it, Twisted Fuckin Sister can.

From a recent interview. You can read it in its entirety here: http://www.rockaaa.com/news/rock-is-dead-5427
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Twisted Sister are back on the road this year for a select handful of shows but French warns fans not to expect any new material from the band as he feels they don’t want it – or are willing to pay for it. He continued:

“There are no plans to record anything new although we are bringing out a bunch of songs we haven’t played in a while so the hardcore fan will hear stuff they haven’t heard us play more ‘Under the Blade.’

“We don’t really see a reason why to record. When a new one comes out you maybe play one song from it because nobody cares so it’s pointless. I’d rather play what everybody wants to hear than play something they are not familiar with.

“That just happens to be the way the situation is these days. It doesn’t pay and nobody buys the material anyway so it doesn’t make any sense to do it. Most bands are never honest enough to say it and want to say they are still making new material but nobody really cares.

“But we are very proud of being able to play what we play and being one of the best live bands in the world and we enjoy playing our hits for our fans.”

Yeh , allthough we would all like a new album , i certainly see the bands point , it takes a lot of time to get an album done right & getting these guys who all have other outside Jobs/lives/family etc. to put in all that effort & then put it out to have it not sell ......... would i buy it ? of course , would all on this board buy it ? YES .... but outside of this board , sales may not be worth it .

Perhaps but KK will never be a solid draw like TS anywhere nor get any big tour offers because despite recording a new CD, its nostalgia at best. KK is not a band thats going to put butts in seats in 2011.

While I would love to hear new TS as well (like "30") JJ imo is correct on the business side of not wanted to release new material.

Geez. I frickin' LOVED "30" and would love to hear a more matured, more sophisticated Twisted Sister! So put me in the vote column for "Would LOVE another album".

Okay that said.....

I am VERY HAPPY that they want to play more songs off of UTB and YCSRNR. I've had a lot of Stay Hungry from the 25th Tour, so more of the oldies and even some covers are always okay too!

Just keep on PLAYING!

well there is no argument that twisted sister sells more tickets and more cd's. i think the point was if king kobra can see some financial reason to put out a new cd surely TS can make enough money doing it

Thats really my point....if it's possible for King Kobra....whatever Twisted would/could do would sell more because they are out there performing and visible to many more people. Plus it's alot cheaper to make albums in this day and age.
To make a Under The Blade/YCSRNR in 2011 costs a fraction of what it used to. We dont need no lavish production values just raw power.

You guys just don't get it... TS is not doing and album and probably won't play anymore after this year is over..

DO you really want them playing WNGTI when there in there 60's??? That would be sad IMO.

Just be glad there gonna "Finally" go out in style. I personally don't want them to be the Boxer that never knows when to stop fighting and gets destroyed in the ring... Who likes to see that??

Time to hang it up IMO...............Just like the Stones, Kiss, and Aerosmith should also call it a day.

Evan worse is a woman in her 60's trying to Look like shes 20.

In energy and performance levels TS are nowhere near 'done'......anyone who thinks they are 'past it' or even nearly past it have no idea what they are talking about.

BTW KISS are better live now then they were on the reunion tour of 96-97. PLUS they have new material.

Hey All

I have to agree....Kiss were absolutely brilliant last time I saw them. As were TS. So...age...energy....has nothing to do with it IMO. Its more to do with business, keeping things financially viable, avoiding clash of interests and .....above all....keeping it fun.

When any of that stops, we are at the end of the road.

I do not think we have got there yet. Performances may decrease, but not end. Dee has become more of an artiste than a musician......but he always was!! (Strangeland anybody?) So extending his interests is only natural. But as I have said, his link to TS is strong, viable and still makes good business sense. He is a smart man and I doubt he will let it go completely. Not yet anyways.

These outside interests are what distract Dee from writing songs. He is simply too busy. I have suggested previously that TS re-record some of the Widowmaker/Desperado material (that would be awesome IMO) or even re-record LIFS. but that is up to them. I can guarantee to you that each time they release material (as with the new UTB/Reading stuff) they will assess interest and sales. If either one diminishes.....guess what? No more comes out. This is a business people. Plain and simple. And with the current state of the economy, that business model works against us all.

So...as I keep saying.....Make the most of it all and enjoy while you can!!

My 2c

I don't know whats stopping them either, there seems to be, IMHO a sense of insecurity, as if if they feel they don't "have it" anymore. Maybe Dee has writers block? I dunno, all speculation. I don't know any of the real reasons beside what Jay Jay has said in the past, all I know is they could go out with a bang with taking all the bonus material on the Stay Hungry 25th Anniveraary release, team up with a kick ass producer like RICK RUBIN, re record those songs and release them the way they deserve to be. I know Rick could pull the very best out of the boyz and make the record special, I just know it. I listen to those songs all the time and just wish I could listen to them with the fidelity they deserve. Who knows..never say never..
