My thoughts are with his family, friends, band and fan-base.

Those of us who saw him perform the last few years were painfully aware of his alcohol/drug use and sadly, as tragic as this is--not shocking--it was difficult to see firsthand the terrible toll that alcohol and drugs had taken on his body as well as his ability to perform. Many of the rockers of our generation are reaching the age when their bodies can no longer withstand the years of excess--I pray that Jani's death is not in vain, and that all of those who were inspired by his music, may now be inspired to put down the alcohol and drugs.

Another young life cut short entirely too soon--such a waste.

I was in the Marine Corps stationed at Camp LeJeune North Carolina when Warrant did a show for us on base,along with Nantucket & Britney Fox back in '88(?).This was about 3 months BEFORE their first album came out(Jani said so during the show).He was just an outstanding singer & his band were absolutely ROCKING it that night! It was a memorable performance, one that I will never forget.That particular show will always be one of my most cherished memories, RIP Jani Lane
