Oh! and the swearing thing....

It's actually been interesting to me....a lot of these "family" festivals, they ask the band to refrain from obscenity. Canada has some strict obscenity laws...and given Dee's personal history with obscenity laws, I don't blame him at all for abiding by the law.

Personally, I find it a bit ridiculous too...but some of the funniest Twisted Sister shows were ones where Dee couldn't curse...

I'm sorry the show didn't measure up in comparison to 2006--I wasn't at that show (boy do I wish I could invent a time machine)--let's hope they get a do-over some time next year!

Thanks Armadillo for the report.

Although I was happy to see Twisted Sister live again, I have to say that I was quite disappointed, not by the band's performance (which was excellent as usual) but by the crowd itself and the fair's promoters.

I live south shore of Quebec City, was born there, and have been listening for TS music for more than 25 years. Like some of the guys on this forum, I travelled to see TS and Dee's SMF to other provinces or country. I believe I am a true fan and everybody who knows me well enough could tell you how true it is.

I guess I should have known that a Twisted Sister crowd at a fair would be... different, but still I could not believe what happened that night. First of all, how can you imagine a TS show without hearing fuck at some point? How could Dee accept to perform without being allowed to speak as he likes? "You should do whatever the fuck you want, whenever the fuck you want and don't let anybody stop you, understand?" Does that quote tells you something? I mean this is no grandmamas gathering after sunday mass, this is a fucking heavy metal show! And 50% of the crowd don't get half of what Dee's saying on stage anyway!

When Armadillo says the crowd was "polite", I think it's more like an euphemism. Probably 80 or 90% of the poeple knew only 2 songs and were there by accident or so it seems. When the band came on stage with "What You Don't Know", only a handfull of fans went crazy and all the other 10,000 poeple were standing like statues, wondering who were these guys on stage. It was totally different from the 2006 show, let me tell you...

I'm glad I met some real TS fans, my friends to start with and Mike Munroe from Toronto and Gilles Bernier. I'm glad there was a few other fans I did not know but who were happy enough to join the - tiny - mosh in the front. For all those weekend warriors who were there just by accident... You sucked so much, you should have stayed home and watch American Idol or Star Academie.

Next time, please play in a smaller place with tickets at 50 or 60 dollars. Then, you'll make sure you get the real fans in the place.

he was not allowed to say fuck at the show?

was cool to meet you again smf quebec

i also wonder why they don't want to play live in small place.
Maybe there was only 2000 real fan in that 10 000 crowd.
Well, i liked the show very much. i never thought i would see them 3 times.

BIGTSFAN - Glad you enjoyed it - wish I could have been there

As far as the guyz not wanting to play in smaller venues - I think it more a case of who/where books them to play choosing the size of the venue as opposed the band. Certainly the Greek shows and some of the UK shows over the past few years have been around the 2000 or less mark.

I like both - the atmosphere is different according to the venue size but not necessarily bad. It kinda depends on the crowd on the day I guess.

I also enjoyed the show a lot, and certainly felt like the crowd was really into it by the end of the show. I hope they come back too--I'd love to spend more time in Quebec!
