Location: Poughkeepsie, NY | Hi All, long time no post, I just wanted to share something with my fellow SMFS, I went to this concert last Wednesday and right before Metallica came out, they played ACDCs It's A Long Way To The Top real loud before they hit the stage. I thought I was at a Twisted Show!! I got goosebumps... I have been to 3 Metallica shows and I don't remember them ever playing this before they came out... All I could think was Twisted was comming out!! Has anyone else ever witnessed this at a Metallica concert before? Later!!

I definitely remember seeing another band use that song pre-show, because I remember thinking it was "stolen" from Twisted. Now that you've mentioned this I think it may have happened with Metallica at Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, NJ during the Madly in Anger with the World Tour back in '04.

Location: TS Lighting Board/ Or monitor Board, or..... | Hey All, Marty Weiand here from The TS Crew, I too went to that show and was shocked to hear them play that( and a little pissed), however it really wasn't that loud, definitely not "Intro Loud", but louder than the "break music" If you remember the Metallica intro is the video form " The Good , The Bad, And The Ugly" and that was " Intro Loud." |

Location: Chicago | I went to the show last week as well and thought the same thing when they played It's a Long Way to the Top! I've seen Metallica 9 or 10 times now and I can't ever remember hearing that song before they hit the stage at any of the other shows I've seen.
I've asked this before but never got an answer. Does anyone know how long TS has been using that song as their intro? They've used it every single time that I've seen them that I can remember dating back to '84.

No coincidence... or coincidence?! Depends on how you view it.  They have been using that song for years as a intro to the actual intro (The good, the bad, the ugly)! I think they started with it in '03. Before that they had a different AC/DC song. |
