I was very saddened to hear the vitriol coming from one of my rock legends. It's OK to disagree but you put yourself into the conversation and are taking a position (a la Barbara Streisand) that I can not and will not support in any way.I attended so many shows that I can't even count. I was in Lamour when I was just 15 years old enjoying the music you guys put out, every show was better than the previous one and the energy TS put out was nothing less that magical. I now am a father and have a 14 year old son who i turned on to TS and he loves you as well...as of today you are OUT!
I will never support you and I will delete ALL of my TS songs and even burn my t-shirts from back in the day. don;t care if they may be woth something someday (doubt it) i just can't support you any longer, enjoy your new life/role as a political activist.

Thanks

It was simply the fact that Dee made a very STRONG staement against something that I strongly support.
I have supported TS all of these years as musicians, they are not politicians (thankfully). If Dee wants to take a position so strongly I can do the same. I know it may sound silly but I'm tired of the entertainers taking there stand so publicly and expecting the PAYING public to just fall in line.

Dee could have simply sent a letter and or a phone call but he wanted to make sure everyone knew his position, now I do and I'm taking mine. Unfortunately i will miss lstening to one of my favorite bands. I'm sure he/they could could care less.

Here's the link to a short story in yahoo.com about Dee asking Paul Ryan to stop using the song WNGTI...

http://news.yahoo.com/dee-snider-paul-ryan-stop-playing-song-220432702.html

Evidently, Dee Snider and politics just don't mix!

By the way Lamour...the band DOES care about their fans and opinions. You have every right to voice your opinions whether others believe in it or not. If you don't want to be a fan of TS all because Dee doesn't want a politician to use the song, then so be it. IMO, for every 1 person that doesn't like TS, there are 1,000 that do!

Dee should stay out of politics! I don't think it is just Democrats listening to or buying their music or products or listening to them on the radio. If Dee wants to put his money where his mouth is he will offer refunds for all the Conservatives that have bought TS product.

You are so right. Just shut up and sing the songs. Leave politics out of it.What free advertising you would have got from it!

You know, Dee Snider has never shut about anything....and for that matter, neither has anyone in the band... It wasn't as though the comments were from left field (whoops. sorry. no pun intended) WNGTI is a Twisted Sister song--Twisted has always monitored who uses their music and for what purpose. Whether you agree or disagree--it is their right to decide who uses their music--for whatever reasons they give, pro or con.

And before you burn your shirts....there are plenty of folks here who have never had the chance to buy one who I'm sure would be happy to purchase them from you. (seriously. if you want to get them off your hands, plenty of us would be happy to help in that regard)

To each their own I guess but I find it pretty pathetic that you would give up listening to one of your favorite bands simply because the singer has a view that you disagree with. People disagree on things every single day. That is the basic problem with politics in general these days. The significant majority of people refuse to even listen to or contemplate another point of view. That's why we have a constant stalemate and can't get anything done in our government. It's a bunch of self-righteous self-serving people in a position of power that are looking out for nothing but their own gain. Looking out for what is actually best for this country is so far down on their priority list, it's ridiculous.

If these people would actually sit down at a table to talk things out and actually give an ounce of thought to the other sides opinion, they might actually be able discuss a compromise and accomplish some good but they don’t and they won’t.

By reacting like this and cutting off your nose to spite your face, you're not hurting anyone but yourself by denying yourself the enjoyment of Twisted Sister's music and live shows. You're choice. Dee isn’t going to be negatively impacted by your stance. Just my opinion of course but that’s how I feel.

Everyone gets so uptight about politics. In the end I’ve yet to meet a politician that I trust further than I can throw them (from either side of the aisle) so it blows me away how passionate people continue to get in support of these people and their parties. Your refusal to even hear or accept Dee’s point of view or reason for requesting that his song not be used makes you just another sheep in the political machine that only follows the party line. Again, just my opinion and you haven't stated your actual reasons so I can't make any other judgment.

For the record, I tend to be conservative in nature as well but that doesn’t mean that I blindly follow every conservative politician and everything they stand for. There’s just as many idiots on the republican side of the aisle as there are in the democratic side of the aisle. This will probably start a huge debate but we’d be better served to actually listen to both sides of the aisle and get our facts straight. Then vote for the person who we think can actually make some positive change. The problem is that the significant majority of Americans simply vote right down the party line and therein lies the problem. That’s why nothing will ever change.

Some may call this a pessimistic view and it probably is. I’m just too fed up with the direction our country is going to be optimistic about anything our government does these days. But I'm certainly not going to shoot myself in the foot and deny myself one of the simple pleasures I have in life just because a member of my favorite band doesn't support someone that I do in a political campaign or because he's got a different opinion than I do. When it comes right down to it, it's simply 2 different opinions. Who's to say which is right and which is wrong? They are simply different.

Sorry for the rant.

I'm with Howdy on this one. Besides, how would Lamour feel (considering his strong views on this) if his personal work would be used against his political views? Just sounds plain stupid to me...
