Road Reporter Posts: 1729 Location: Baltimore, MD | Hi folks Power now on. I'm finally home from work at a reasonaable hour after spending 3 days at the job--now the local response here in Baltimore is winding down (not as bad as it could have been) I'm waiting to hear if my disaster team will get deployed to NY. I'm hoping we do--there is nothing worse than watching the devastation on TV and not be allowed to go help. (they already sent some of our strike team folks) Hoping that all of my S.M.F. family is doing well, managing the challenges and that their families, pets, loved ones and property is safe and unscathed.

Nearly A Band Member Posts: 513 Location: New Fuckin Yawk | I lost complete power and running water for 2 1/2 days during this storm. My office has been closed all week. BUT I consider myself very fortunate that I have my health and belongings as many people here in the NY & NJ area have been displaced permanently. My heart and prayers go out to all those affected individuals. It is a daily struggle for all of us to gain a sense of normalcy. Supermarkets have no food to buy, gas stations cannot sell gas due to power outages. So this storm is testing the resolve of all of us New Yorkers and Jersians. We will rise above and thank everyone for their support. On a TS related note...during the storm, I had my iphone music to listen to. And wouldn't you guess, TS songs lifted my spirit and got me through it.

Destroyer Posts: 545 | That reminds me of a story from a few months ago... My oldest daughter who is 10 told me that mayan story but added that it was on her birthday as well. My youngest girl, (who is 7) started laughing uncontrollably. My oldest asked, "what are YOU laughing at, the world is going to end!!" to which my youngest replied..."yeah, well...at least it won't be my birthday!" tee hee...gotta love it.

Location: Rocking In The Florida Dark ! | My best wishes to everyone ! Geeee - the first 36 years of my life that I lived in NY state , I never saw anything like that -- Now I have people telling me they are coming to florida to feel safe because we are basically set up for adverse weather. I love NY however and hope all will be ok real soon. That was crazy and should havent happened. Hopefully the ocean has cooled off enough now not to support anymore such storms like that. AS a new yorker my heart of course goes out to all affected. I may live in Florida now but NY will allways feel like home to me.
