SMF 1st Class Posts: 7 | The guys put on nothing short of a stellar performance, and seemed quite pleased with the crowd response. You'd never know they played in Belgium the day before, and flown across the Atlantic! I was thrilled to see them from the front row, and hear some of the rarer tunes from Stay Hungry, but am bummed they couldn't play a few non-SH cuts, given time constraints, etc. PS - EVERY review I've seen has named TS as a highlight of the festival, including the Montreal Gazette, our local paper.

SMF 1st Class Posts: 7 | Here's a link to the local paper's review: http://www.montrealgazette.com/entertainment/Review+Heavy+Montr%C3%A9al+thrills/10106978/story.html Also the excerpt on Twisted Sister: and the personal highlight of the weekend: Twisted Sister, and Dee Snider’s inspired veteran trash-talking, rabble-rousing We Are All Five Original Members set. The Astoria native and his NYC crew played the entire Stay Hungry album, denounced promoters and Canadian/American Idol wannabes, blew up We’re Not Gonna Take It and I Wanna Rock and were the non-headliner highlight. It was … awesome, actually. In ye olden tymes, we would have used adjectives like “bracing” or “life-affirming.” So there they are. Regarding Slayer and the rest of the festival, it was GREAT. Of course playing in the dark, and having 90 minutes, benefited Slayer, but they WERE really tight. A lot of good bands throughout the weekend, and different kinds of heavy music, but TS really shone through.
