Elite SMF Posts: 214 Location: Da Bronx | Oh its a private screening. Terry I hope you dont have to pay to get in. Not after walking through subway tunnels to get coffee for da boyz. I remember once about 35 years ago a famous singer made the mistake of trying to send me and a friend on a beer run. I told him, "hey, am I darker than you?" I was not... I told him, "hey, am I darker than you?" I was not... I absolutely DO! And gladly. I am more than happy to donate to the movie to get into the private screening. FYI--for benefits, the crews typically donate their time--I know for the Sandy benefit, both band and crew worked gratis.

Elite SMF Posts: 214 Location: Da Bronx | That's cool. But I would have told them to call the Carnegie Deli. As a woman I am wary of doing anything for anybody. MFs take advantage. As John Lennon said, "Woman Is The Nigger of the World" Edited by nancyde 2014-08-31 12:00 AM

Elite SMF Posts: 214 Location: Da Bronx | Sorry no meetup maybe next time... and sorry for being so rough... the Bronx comes right out of me. Still, although I am neither an accountant nor a tax attorney, I dont believe any of those services could be considered donations. And it is really hard to get the IRS to approve a 501 3 c these days. Maybe for the Church of Twisted Sister...see you at the next show maybe! Edited by nancyde 2014-09-08 7:39 AM

Full-On SMF Posts: 96 | Well, Sorry I didn't get to meet anyone this time, but it was a great show. My old friend came into town and got to bust his TS cherry for this show. He even got taken backstage for part of the show(having a cane works for you sometimes, right Terry?) Twisted brought it as always, Adrenalin Mob was sick as hell(Thank You A.J for being such a bad ass and providing the thunder for two bands) and Killcode made me a fan. What an amazing show….I'm still reeling….three days later…..damn!!!

And it is really hard to get the IRS to approve a 501 3 c these days. Maybe for the Church of Twisted Sister...see you at the next show maybe! We all worked for free. No one got paid to play, work, or run. The proceeds went to charity, not to pay salaries, can you dig it? :-) I'll write the road report shortly…but I did a grand total of just over 13 miles of running on show day for the Best Buy--and it was an honor and pleasure to do it. I don't get a tax write-off for the work I do for Twisted Sister, but then again, I'm not doing it for the money or the IRS. I love doing it. Period. It isn't work when you're following your passion.

Elite SMF Posts: 214 Location: Da Bronx | Not for nuthin but you dont have to tell me about not making money in music. Im a singer. And I have recordings older than you.So dont be such a pain in my neck. Or next time TS is in town I might have to VOLUNTEER to mop the stage with you! Edited by nancyde 2014-09-09 6:25 AM
