I just spent a couple of hours listening and going over the lyrics of the Desperado CD and I think I got them now, even that one hard line in See You At Sunrise. Check it out:

Rami-

Nice work! That one "See You at Sunrise" part is tough, though. You had:

A lesson taught, my spilled well
Would kick if you box it, you wed hell

I hear it a little differently. Try this:

A lesson taught must be learned well.
One ticket you bought: see you in hell!

Of note: back when I ran deesnider.com, I had the Desperado lyrics posted. I got them from Dee's files from when he wrote them. If I knew you were trying to figure them out, I certainly would have sent them to you or posted them here or something. The interesting thing, though, is that one stanza (above) is MISSING from the official lyrics. The hardest part to hear, and it's not there! They must have added it at the last moment or something. So, the above guess is just that: my guess.

Hey-

Richard and Cyndi: Thanks for ordering Deepwater!

I learned very quickly not to go looking at discussion groups where people talk about it. That's one thing I guess I have in common with Dee (based on his recent post here) is that people's negative comments drive me absolutely insane! A while back, in the middle of the night, my girlfriend asked me what I was thinking about. I said, "Hunting down MovieFilm365, torturing her...." MovieFilm365 was the screen-name of someone who had written a negative comment about my film that I'd seen a week prior. A whole week later, and I was still plotting how I would hire a private investigator to identify this person, and then hunt them down and make them PAY!!!! It was at that point that I realized I have a psychological problem that prohibits me from reading Deepwater-related message boards.

So what am I to do here? I can't AVOID reading the Slamboard. Nor can I tell you not to post your honest opinions. This is a real dilemma. I guess we'll just let the cards fall where they may, and if I must hunt one of you down and kill you... I must.

Yes, you're right about the lyrics. Thanks. I just put them on my site. Now the lyrics have some sense. Just goes to show that English isn't my mother tongue. Of course I based my lyric page on the lyrics that you posted on deesnider.com. One of the first things I did, when I got the internet back in '97, I took the lyrics of Love Is For Suckers, Desperado and Blood & Bullets from your site. It's just that there's lots of lyrics in the songs that are not on those official lyric sheets and I've tried hard to figure them out.

Hi Dave,

Rest assured if the report on Deepwater is good I will print it here. If not I WON'T as I am now to scared. Don't much like the idea of being hunted down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am sure the film will be great. I suspect there is a script, and subsequent film, to be written about a man , called "Ironroad", who is obsesed with tracking down someone that has done him wrong on a message board. He finds him, ties him to a chair and cuts off his ear whilst listening to Twisted Sister. You heard it here first, I expect my cut Dave!

Richard a scared UK SMF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Ironroad,

a little bit off topic ( i know this is a Desperado album topic ) but since "Deepwater" was mentioned here i just wanted to share this. "Deepwater" is getting it's DVD release here in Finland by a company called Future Film http://www.futurefilm.fi/ )

It has already been classified suitable for persons over 15 years ( http://195.197.150.133/elokuvahaku/EH1210.aspx?ID=308166&lcid=1035 ) by the Finnish Board Of Film Classification ( http://www.vet.fi/english/board.html ). In Finland only programs exhibited or distributed to persons under 18 have to be classified, so if Future Film hadn't got it classified, it had automatically got the 18 years label. I guess it's coming out both rental and for sale. I just recently watched it for the first time and it's a really good, athmospheric piece of work which i'm sure will get good reviews here too.

Hey Luatikko,

That's AWESOME!!!! I know it has come out in a bunch of countries, but no one ever tells me anything specific. Thank you for being the one to tell me.

This seals the deal. I'm definitely coming to visit Finland now.

Thanks, man, that really made my night. It's weird: thinking about my film playing in some country that I've always thought sounded really cool, but that I've never been to. As you know, I've always been a fan of Aki Kaurismaki, and I'm sure his influence can be seen all over Deepwater. Hopefully his fans there will enjoy that.....

Thanks (again),

LMAO...funny comments there!

Dave,

Well, I think that is only a natural/normal feeling what you are expressing. Understandable. Film marketing/producing has to be extremely stressful worrying about the impact of reviews on a film's box office performance and overall sales. There have been many movies that topped the box office charts that very honestly I found to be boring! Yet others that were underrated, I really enjoyed. So, you are in an industry that carries a vast amount of highs and lows depending on who is doing the evaluation and judging. Your business is subject to so many variables.

Your film has gotten nothing but great reviews so far. Positive thinking my dear, only positive! It's gonna be great!

All my best to ya,
Cyn
